India will loose Assam/Tripura to greater Bangladesh if there were any war with China. Those people in NE just waiting for the opportune time and already started scouting. ;)

How did this not happen in 1962? Because Bangladesh did not exist in 1962?

Babu mohshai usse pahale BD paani ke neeche chala jayega banaliyon ke saath.

Ooh ,u mean we are waiting 4 china to attack us, u know i am from assam and i can bet that if china attack us then people will eat them,we don,t require arms or army we ourself only local people will end up the chinese army....we are mongoloid race people and have similar faces but we love our country,we are proud to be an indian ......

No, u can't compare 1971 to 1965 or 1962,since after 2 wars in one of which we got complete defeat & in another there was a more of a stalemate situation, Indian leadership finally woke up to the needs of military & importance of defence of the nation. Under the strong leadership of Indira Gandhi, we made every arm of our military more & more powerful each passing day, in 1971 many factors were in our favor like the USSR friendship treaty, local Bangladeshi help, no interference from China or US, strong military leadership under Sam Manekshaw, etc., helped us achieve a massive victory. The main reason why we won '71 was that we came to realize our true power, which was not at all visible in either 1962 or 1965.

Better read more about the actual happenings in the 1962 border skirmishes.

Leave alone comptemporary "wars" of 1960s era ..... those border skirmishes were kids playing, even when compared to First World War battles half a century ago.

Imagine .... in 1962 .... i.e. 50 years after the First World war.. people fighting with "Guns-in-hand" and sometimes face to face with bayonets ..and the troops being counted in hundereds .. sometimes in two digits.

The scene looks more like .. a medieval battle zone... rather than a 20th century "war".

Perhaps, we should take lessons more from Mahmud Gaznavi and Muhammad Ghori wars .... which were proper wars atleast.

In fact, chinese "textbooks" don't refer to it as a war, but minor border skirmishes. They don't think India and China ever had a war.

Let's not make a dragon out of a mouse. No point.

But in greater Bangladesh, there will be no bangladeshi because all of them will sinking in bay of Bengal with tiger sharks, bull shark and the the great white( etc etc). thanks to the flood which created by releasing water from Dam made in bhramaputra( padma ) river.;)

True, but we should atleast agree that it brought us disgrace in the eyes of the world.

True, but we should atleast agree that it brought us disgrace in the eyes of the world.

Timur lane gave us more disgrace on the streets of Delhi.

And every nation has it's lows.

Noting what Japanese did to Nanking (read "the rape of Nanking") or Hitler's Air force did to Rotterdam.... well... Timur lane was our equivalent (can't say milder than Nanking or Rotterdam).. (the "Qatl-e-Aam" sounds horrendous, even when played out in 1700s or 1800s, when ever it was).

But, bad experiences should teach us for the future.

Indeed, 1962 was cheapest price we could have paid to get a wake up, regarding defence.

In fact, we gained more than we lost in 1962... China never had a chance to launch a full fledged invasion against India in 1962 (.. their non-military supplies were being sourced from the port of Calcutta.. Huh !!). But we got a wake up call, all the same.

Else, we were just being deluded by Gandhian pacifism of the 1950s, when defence was being totally ignored.

If 1962 wake up call had not happened..... then Pakistan would have given us a much much costly lesson in 1965 (with perhaps, a situation having been changed on the ground).

We got it the cheapest possible way, indeed.

They just casefired before iaf attackd them...,china casefired within two day after knowing indian airforce and united nation were alarmed......they too compare with cuban missile crisis. ...so that no one can think of that invasion ......the one who loses always ends the war....

no idea abt it,but

Tell me from where chinese air force fleet come crossing the gaint himalaya at 1962......

Forget abt war and just think of how can we make peace and live both peacefully.... WAR HAS NO WINNER.....we are both nuclear capable nation and not too far towards devlopment....this time is the turning point 4 a country and we should nt waste time at war ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

After hearing the blabber and baloney being spewed out by the Chinese on this thread, it makes me ROFL! The problem is that little kids out here are masquerading as professional posters churning out rubbish, knowing squat about the 1962 war as well as the drubbing the PLA received at the hands of the Indian Army in 1967 at Nathula and Chola where more than 400 PLA troops were massacred and dozens of gun positions and pillboxes destroyed!

That slaughter of the PLA in 1967, needless to say, will never be divulged to a brainwashed Chinese population due to the propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party so that they continue to get orgasms when they talk about 1962. But they can't talk of 1967 can they?

Then there's the Somdorongchu incident in the 1980s in Arunachal Pradesh when the Indian Chief Gen Sundarjee, warned the Chinese to get the hell out of there or face the consequences like what happened to them at Nathula. The Chinese withdrew quickly without a whimper, lock, stock, and barrel!

Do the Chinese even know about these incidents? That's the problem. They keep harping on the 1962 skirmish like a broken record with the needle stuck in the groove! Or a tape recorder in loop mode. Much water has flowed under the bridge since then. The sooner they realise it the better.
