US does not fight to conquer lands but reshape political landscapes of other countries. For perspective, US reshaped political landscape of Iraq, Somalia, and Libya in recent years. US managed to dimantle Al-Qaeda Network in Afghanistan as well. These achievements are nothing to sneeze at TBH.

US-led forces managed to occupy both Iraq and Afghanistan for multiple years. This was by no means an easy task because modern nation-states can be difficult to control due to evolution of the insurgency model of warfare. Iran also fought a war with Iraq and could not capture Basra in 8 years - this is not a jab at Iran but shows how difficult modern warfare is.

Not sure why you have such a pessimistic view of American battlefield exploits. Many countries have much less to show in comparison.
