Any change in judiciary requires passing major laws, that would need to be ratified by senate. The Senate is controlled by the very people whom the law would affect.
Back in 2016, Child S abuse was criminalized in Pakistan, and the punishment was increased from just 7 years to 7 years. This was in 2016. Just now, March 2020, the punishment was increased to death or life in prison.
You can see how slow and outdated our politicians are when it comes to updating criminal law. Both time it took for a major event to happen, before any law was updated.
Under the revised legislation, sexual assaults will now be punishable by up to seven years in prison.

Back in 2016, PPP objected to execution. Again they objected in 2020. And now they are again objecting to it. If we want any law to pass, we need to first get rid of these politicians.
