What's new

Woman raped on Lahore Ring Road, infront of her two children.

I don't buy the story of rapist running away in fields with his wife. Encounter is on the cards, just wait few days.
I also doubt about these arrest. If the victim identify them? or bring the culprits interview in public . Maybe we can trust CCPO but lower ranks do all investigation. Next twist in the story is coming soon .... just wait.
A 27-year-old involved in a criminal activity for last 7 years and been release on bail many times ... so judicial system constant failure or a make up story ...

It needs to be forced on them from the barrel of a gun.

I wish we could. You can see how anti Pakistan they are. They rather keep Pakistan on grey list, instead of pass laws that would remove from the list.

Any "force" attempts will trigger, "Democracy is under attack." In 2008 election, there was banners all over Karachi, with Benazir pic captioned "Democracy is the best revenge". People fell for it. From then onward, these corrupt anti Pakistan people are in power. They use the veil of democracy to destroy Pakistan, and protect themselves.

Rangers have arressted many culprits in Karachi. as effected don;t come in courts, and agencies/department testimony is weak (that is why even terrorists get evicted in civil courts but not by anti-terrorists courts).. so we need reforms.. i mean a department who can follow them after bail..
remember the somali guy, who git bailed and went on killing on street, but little he knows that he was under surveillance so got killed.. (in London i guess)

The woman was raped and robbed on the highway. That's banditry -- i.e., Hirabah.

The Islamic punishment for banditry is crucifixion (or cutting off both hands and feet, or exile). In fact, some of the classical fuqahah put rape as a form of Hirabah. However, in this case, the crime literally took place on a highway, so in this case, it'd be crucifixion (or cross-amputation, or exile).

My knowledge of Islamic laws is extremely limited, but doesn't rape carry death penalty?

Also about the pregnant dancer who was shot.. for unable to dance.. no progress in that case i think.. never seen any news about those culprits..
That was interior Sindh case. A little kingdom where no rule of law. Feudal system never die. But this is our job to raise the voice. Police and Judicial system is mother of all evil.

I was coming to post this. This is last week but reported now

According to the details, three dacoits broke into a house, situated within the limits of Raiwind City Police station, and reportedly gang-raped a woman besides looting Rs11,000 cash, gold jewelry, mobile phones, ration and other valuable items on Thursday night (September 3).

I think I don;t differ about death penalty but publicly will paint us bad. Plus we need justice, just silently eliminating them in jail or by soem robin hood, will serve the purpose.
As muslims we are abstained from torturing except stoning in a perfect system is where every other Islamic laws is followed. In a corrupt system stoning may not be allowed but hanging can be.
Do you know btw ' death by thousand cut'? I mean that is cruel. Imagine broadcasting that on TV will show us savage.

It's been a decade since I last spoke to an aalim about this, but from what I remember, it depends on the judge. Allah (SWT) was explicit in saying what absolutely requires death, yet (as you can see in the verse above) gave judges more leeway in other areas (ta'zir).

Given the context of this case -- i.e., a group raped a woman in front of her kids -- I think sincere judges will all issue a death sentence. In situations like this especially, they could resort to the most brutal method too.

However, in other cases -- like rape within relationships -- judges may go with flogging or jail instead of execution. Likewise, if this gang had just robbed the woman (not rape her), then the judge may not want to execute these guys (though he technically can).

Now, this is all predicated on an actual Islamic judge working within an Islamic system.

I think we can all agree that the system in Pakistan is, at its heart, a secular system (in that people decide what laws to implement) with a British-inspired legal system. We also know that the judges in Pakistan are also iffy, to say the least.

In a perfect Islamic system, hardly anyone will receive lashes, or will be stonned to death for consensual act, because as per my understanding, Islam wants the people to ask mercy for the matters between Allah and His creation. The only candidates for such punishments will be the people who post the video online or who work in **** industry.

It's this fasaad that requires strict, public punishments because they create a public problem. Now look at twitter/ facebook, how many people (even men) are afraid of travelling. On other incidents, where rapists are breaking into the homes and raping women in front of their family members, they are basically creating a fear that we aren't safe even if we remain inside.

If the crime is public, the punishment should also be public... so that the people who see the punishment with their own eyes fear for their lives when they think about this kind of act ever.

Today, a molvi was caught trying to do something with a 7 years old.. People started beating him up.. This is the frustration that people are showing on the law and order situation.

About image, abhi konsa acha image ja raha hai.. Women are being raped inside their homes in front of their husbands and children..
