We never suggested this punishment for men when that crime was an isolated one many many decades back. Once it become a manic we suggested one. Now when it becomes one in case of women we would suggest the same.

I see ... Let's induce this logic else where ... so statistically speaking, depending on how you break the data down, African Americans in the US, are alot more likely to commit certain crimes ... so going by your logic, the U.S should adopt a system that is inherently racist because one group of people is more likely to commit a certain crime ... ??

Secondly, lets not forget there are categories of crime that women dominate as well ... e.g. women are more likely to abuse and kill their children ... so I suppose you'd also be up for suggesting another extreme punishment ONLY for women ... until the crime occurs in similar frequencies across men and women ... and ONLY then would men be punished as severely... right ??

Thirdly, what sort of approach is it really to suggest a punishment "for a group of people" when the crime is not exclusive to them in the first place -- So I'm basically inquiring ... are you for punishing crime or punishing groups ?

It's not really an "assumption" when its backed up by scientific research by DHHS in its child maltreatment reports and the link I gave quotes these reports and analyzes different cases spanning around 5 years (2001-2006) yielding results at 70 odd percent of abuse and killings faced by children in the U.S at the hands of women ..Similarly, I also quoted the statistics of the department of justice for 2012/13 ... the simple comparison of violent crimes when its "white vs black" puts it at 85% of the time, the African American being the perpetrator ...

Based off what you believe in which would be

It is an isolated incident. If women committing crimes against men rises to the level of male violence against women, then sure.

In the light of statistics quoted would you also apply the same standards in the case of race (white vs black) and when the tables are turned when it comes to gender ( females more likely to commit abuse against children?)

Now if you really are for a racist and a sexist system, please explain how you can support "equality" and "women's rights" when your knee jerk reaction to an incident is to be the very thing your supposedly fighting against ...

Woman attacks man with acid for refusing her marriage proposal

A 36-year-old woman attacked on Thursday a man with acid for declining her marriage proposal in Multan.

According to police sources, Shamim, resident of Moza Gharyal in Multan district’s Makhdoom Rasheed area, threw acid on Sadaqat, 24, after he refused to marry her. Sadaqat has been shifted to Nishtar Hospital Multan for treatment.

Sources at the hospital said Sadaqat has received 60 per cent burns due to which the next 24 hours are crucial for him.

Following the incident, police officials arrested Shamim who then confessed her crime. Reports revealed that the two were having an affair for over a year.

“Sadaqat promised me he will marry me and we had planned that I would divorce my husband and leave my children with him, after which Sadaqat would marry me,” Shamim told the police.

“We were arguing since over a month and his constant refusal to marry me infuriated me as a result of which I threw acid on him,” she added.

Man, woman allegedly killed over affair

Meanwhile, the victim’s brother, Sharafat, told The Express Tribune that Sadaqat was engaged to his cousin and were going to get married after Eid.

Denying Sadaqat’s relationship with the mother of four, Sharafat said, “My brother was innocent, he was a shy boy and used to avoid ladies.”
“The woman is accusing my brother for something he did not do, she was the one who kept approaching Sadaqat to marry her,” he added.

Police officials registered a case at Makhdoom Rasheed Police station against Shamim, while further investigation is underway.
