With eye on exports, Tejas on display in Bahrain air show

Nice try... Try in cinemas.. your fairy tale works better there..

Now think economically, genius, even if that one day LCA is somehow miraclely exported to a s@cker country, the profit earned, after stripping all the fees paying to the third partied involvled, would be barely enough to purchase 2 barrels of wet paint in Indian market. Is all those troubles along the way worth the brag? :D

If you think we had not thought about it.. then it is your mistake.. we know what we are exporting and what will be turning out.. It would be better you dont try to rant as you dont know anything about LCA than we know about JF-17 and it profit sharing mechanism. because your are in the state of denial.. it is not your fault.. your born that way

Large parts of the radar are Indian means that radar is not Indian.

Guess SAAB and the BAE should stop trying to export their products since it contains alot of foreign components.

US and UK parts means can't sell to The countries of List of arms embargoes.
Israel parts means can't sell to Arab world
.

But they don't use Israel parts.

Says who, they use the Israeli manufactured Laser Designators (Litening pods)

Really? Then how come the Saudi's have Eurofighters, F-15's, F-16's and Tornados?

Saudi's is an exception. But the point is that India just assembly parts made by other countries into a plane. Similar to what Taiwan did.

If a small country like Taiwan decided to build a "modern" plane in 1980, start the project in 1982, have the first flight by 1989 and induct the plane by 1994, why would take India over 30 years from decision to build to induct LCA with about the same percentage of foreign parts is beyond human comprehension.

.
Who are other major customer for Tejas beside the Indian air force? Tejas took over 30 yrs to build and still haven't solved all the problems without a single squadron induct in India air force. Field one squadron to India air force 1st, then hire some used cars salesmen to trick up the Tejas capacity then sale to the unsuspected custom as the lemon used combat fighter jet.

So the UAE is an exception as well right? What about Egypt? Jordan? etc... you get my point.

Last I checked, the Indians actually designed and developed their own aircraft (without the help of Lockheed or other US companies).

Lets be honest, We built it for them. Lockheed was there from day 1 for the Taiwanese helping you guys with design and development. India had to build the infrastructure to help them build the aircraft (whereas we, Lockheed, provided that for Taiwan).

Well, they are taking your advice.

And this is what India should have done to get their LCA built. But they didn't and so it take over 30 years. LCA is a joke all over the world. Even Indians make fun of how long it take for this plane to get ready.

Tejas should be in museum displacement

Indian air force reluctantly induct the Tejas into their force even with yrs on yrs delay with the delivering to India air force, Tejas couldn't deliver on time to their India air force, how can Tejas will deliver the final product on time to the customer after the purchased.

You say that like they had a choice... The only people willing to help them were the Russians, but they were having their own problems at the time... you know soviet collapse and all. The Tejas might not be the prettiest or best aircraft but as long as it's better than the Mig-21 (even by a hair), it was worth it for them. Now moving into the future you think their next jet will take 30 years to design/develop? I sure as hell see them creating their own jets from here on out. But they have the same problem the Chinese do, they don't know how to create efficient jet engines (which is where the MRCA deal comes in, I'm assuming the Frenchies are giving them the know-how on the Snecma M-88 core).

Tejas should be in museum displacement

Will the J-10 and JF-17's be joining the Tejas?

Unlike the Chinese air force which will induct anything, even a half-baked product like the J-10, the Indians want the best product they can get (similar to the US Air Force methodology). You think the PLAAF has a choice in what it gets? No, they take whatever the Government tells them to take.
