They lack representation on the UNSC, and their interests are shadowed by the big players such as Brics, US, EU.

Which coutries do you think will fill that void in the muslim world?

My guess:
Either Iran or Saudi Arabia - both have enormous resources and influence of over the rest of the muslim world and have decent manufacturing base.

Your thoughts?

there can be only one superpower at a time. Right now it is US. Next it will be India, Russia or China. or all three in different phases of time.

Saudi will not be a power even in 10000 years. It is too small country and its complete focus is on religion and women only. How can it ever compete in the world of nano technology and quantum physics.

Iran has a good chance to become a regional power at best, but due to the presence of more progressive and bigger countries in India, China and Russia. It doesn't have chance to become super power in future.

only chance for Muslim representation in a super power is India. If India becomes super power sizeable Muslim population will have representation as a world power.

No superpower is possible. But Iran/KSA/Turkey/Pakistan/Indonesia are all fairly potent regional powers.

We must not forget that Pakistan is the only Muslim country that has the potential to be a world power. The only thing that stops Pakistan from this is very poor governance.

Nuclear weapons, a huge population, resources, an economy with the potential to reach trillions, a large army, all of this and much more.

Could be true, however Pakistan is currently economically dwarfed by countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey.

not to offend you, but world power and super power are different things.

Though Pakistan can be a world power in future if it is governed properly, but it can never be a Super Power like US is today or India/China/Russia will be in future.

The only candidates for super power in next 200 years is India, China, Russia or US itself again.

Even getting to world power status is tough- Only China, Russia currently fill that role.

Yes, though, while not aiming for an economy war with fellow Muslim states, Pakistan can indeed reach the trillion benchmark faster than most people think. Think about this, we have a population of 190 Million people, and about 7 million abroad. Even though we had chronic electric shortages, our economy still grew at 3.7% in the 2012 term period. At the same time, the money pouring in from Pakistani ex-pats grew from 13 Billion to 14.5 Billion, making it the 8th largest in the world. And along with this, only 2-3% of Pakistanis pay taxes, which makes us collect about 10 billion dollars. If we increase that number to say at least 40%, than we can make more than a 100 billion dollars out of taxes alone.

There are 8 muslim countries ahead of pakistan in GDP.

Yes right, even becoming world power would be tough.

Though China is not a world power right now. Only Russia fits that category. China can not take the war to European or American landmass. But Russia can. (keeping Nukes out)

A Muslim superpower must have nuclear weapons, therefore it is Pakistan no doubt.

Without nuclear weapons, you will get blackmailed by other nuclear powers, so forget about your developing economy.

Now it is too late the develop the nuclear weapon, and fortunately Pakistan has catched the last bus to develop the nuclear weapon.

Now Pakistan has no pressure to expand its nuclear stockpile and to develop ICBM, the same cannot be said, for example North Korea and Iran.

Let's not forget the potential Pakistan's economy has, the same potential of this economy has been shown since our birth. Literally crawling from less than a million to billions soon, people praised our growth all over the world so much that South Korea still uses our model in their capital city Seoul to this date. That's the Pakistan we need back, and hopefully after May 11th things will go in that favour.
