In a fair system, the additional money needs to go with additional checks and balances to ensure that the money is not siphoned away by corrupt politicians. No free lunch and all that.

It is not additional money, after a fair distribution in which states share has been increased after finance commissions recommendation the remaining is centre's prerogative and duty to allocate where it is needed the most.

Their are people in south(bangalore,hyderabad) from north earning and paying taxes and people from south in north(delhi ncr) who are earning and paying taxes it simply stupid to believe that any region is taking the burden of other states as every state has contribution from other states.

besides what about north east should we leave them highly under developed just because they didn't had any development/industrialization ?

That is exactly what I stated and yes, our politicians should go all out to gain a fair share of the funds and this could be done only if South's politicians pursue it collectively without any differences or we should stop sending our taxes to the central govt if there is a possibility to do that

1996-2014 central govt was completely dependent on south indian states (tamil nadu and andhra) .
What they did ? Scam after scam and freeBies to people during election .

Its the prerogative of the center to allocate funds as per its best judgement, in the welfare of all concerned.

Though its about time these special clauses for kashmir, N.E., Lakshwadeep etc is thrown out.

Remove Hyderabad, Bangalore, mumbai, chennai from their respective states and then calculate their actual worth.
There cities are not developing due to govt effort or due to son of soils. People from all parts of india have contributed to their growth.
