Thing is,
PTI's most influential backing comes from Overseas Pakistanis,
Which are very vocal and have an obvious vested interest in Western values which by association means being sinophobic whether intentionally or by cultural brainwashing, whether PTI comes with pro-China policy in the future will depend on how important overseas backing to PTI is.
Overseas Pakistanis are overwhelmingly pro-China. We know how Western countries think regarding Pakistan because we live in Western countries. Let me assure you, Western countries don't care about Pakistan's well-being one bit. It is pure business. Whether it is the Pakistani army or IK. Western countries just want someone who listens to their demands. This is why Western countries have a track record of dealing with both military and civilian rulers shamelessly. On the one hand Western countries claim to be proponents and supporters of democracy. On the other hand, the Western countries deal with every kind of regime to further their interests. These two don't rhyme.
Pakistanis both in Western countries and in Pakistan fully understand that relations with China are mutually beneficial. China is a direct neighbor of Pakistan unlike Western countries. It is in China's best interest to see Pakistan prosper because it impacts the neighborhood. Western countries view Pakistan through Islamic and third world prism. Not only Pakistan, but most Islamic developing nations. It is an exploitative and transactional relationship.
From the Cold War era to the war in Afghanistan. We have been through a lot of ups and downs with the West. It would be safe to say many more downs than ups. Our military and the Western nations are predominantly responsible for the toxic relationship that we have developed today.
