it too early to assume to sell S-400 to Pakistan @AZADPAKISTAN2009 , we just started our warm relations with Russia, it will take time to build trust/mutual respect over Russia by Pakistan then Russia sell big ticket items like S-400/ Su-35/Mig-35 to Pakistan @AZADPAKISTAN2009

Did you looked at balance of payment issues for Pakistan. They are going pillar to post to collect funds. In such situation also military has luxury in Pakistan?

Now if Pakistan want it, Russia would definitely sell.
Military make have some strategy and they run such vast empires.
Where did the money go, it should be spend in buying strategic weapons on developing them. As pmln government has bought us to the point in terms of economy that for a long time, it might not be able to afford anything big.
This is the need of the time.
This is not to make any statement but we really need it. We cannot fight 2 front war. Western border is more dangerous then the eastern one. We need to secure the west and s400 would take care of the east.
There is a possibility that if Russia sells this to Pakistan, India would cancel their order. They are still hagling for price, though they boost that they are rolling in money.
Almost all the big agreements with Russia are cancelled.
They have only bought few rafael's.
But if we somehow locally make this system or buy it and do reverse engineering. It is a very good bargain.

Why do we keep forgetting that the S400 is no longer a nonbattle tested SAM...

It IS battle tested and IT FAILED THE TEST... IN SYRIA...TWICE!

For all those who claim that Russia never fired it with all those cruise missiles coming in, what can I say man, go shoppin' for some beachfront property in arizona!

By the way, the same failures happened with the THAAD system; north korea shot multiple long range missiles as tests over south korea and japanese airspace, neither THAAD nor the shiny new aegis could intercept them.

No, overrated and expensive. Any country going for LR/theater air defense is wasting their money. Wait until the tech matures and is reliable against modern-day cruise missiles. Don't see that happening as the offensive missiles keep getting better and better. Investing in offensive firepower is the best defense in this case.

The Turks only went for it because of some transfer of technology/code release which the US doesn't want to provide. Pantsir-1M is what Pak needs. Wait for a better Chinese solution which is inevitable.
