HQ-9 is inferior to S-400. China herself bought S-400 so even if we buy HQ-9, we should still go for S-400.

I think its too early assume that Russia sell it to Pakistan and remember guys this is their strategic SAM we 're just started our warm relationship with Russia, its better chance to get HQ-9 series from China instead S-400 from Russia which currently to have least chance to get guys

It will be same for India too if Pakistan ever buy S-400.

By so doing, Pakistan would have a tremendous advantage over Indian warfare psyche, cold start doctrine & actual battlefield advantage down the road.

The only thing hampering Pakistan is not having enough funds to acquire them.

The S-400 is a game changer, Pakistan should buy them one or the other way to not succumb to Modi's periodic threats of cold start shik.



China has them, India will have them, why not SCO member Pakistan?
After all, all these nations are members of SCO.
And they are defensive, not offensive.
Russia will agree for these billions.

The big Question is how Pakistan is going to pay for it, because one or two systems will not be enough for area air defense and could be over whelmed.

Pakistan need BUK-M3 & Pantsyr latest version in good numbers with other available assets and HQ-9 they will create an air defense which will be very deadly to mess with.

China has ASAT capability but they still bought S-400, one reason is to fill number Gap as China is huge and too much old tech needs to be replaced and also get to know what else is available which could help improve own tech.

Sure the S-400 is better but the HQ-9 is no slouch and on par with the S-300. The bottom line is that Pakistan can get the HQ-9, which will be a game changer. The S-400 is just speculation. Pakistan simply does not have that relationship yet with the Russians.

Good to have some HQ-9s but it is not an alternative for S-400.
However I disagree that our relations are not there yet, all you need is some cash and the will and it will come.
