Will not allow anymore nuclear reactors in India: Activist

i dont understand why govt doent get ppl like him shot by contract killers. if this movement becomes big, our nuclear program will be in trouble. kill the movement now or and mass murder these assholesss. we dont care about human rights. everything has to make way for development. these ppl should be open fires at.

Sorry buddy, but we do.
If we follow what you are suggesting, what will be the difference between a civilian democratic government and Taliban??

What we can do is to let them protest, shout, etc. but keep on doing our job, and that is to invest in civilian nuclear technology.
Sooner than later they will shut up and close their shops. Wait and watch.

You guys scream NGO' yet have no real knowledge about the good they do. Do you know how many activists of various religions have died defending the poor who have no voice and lack the means to put up a resistance to such thugs? If you only understood, half of you shitheads have no clue what goes on in the other side of India. You are too busy watching some Bollywood BS, to pay attention to the miserable lives of the truy poor and oppressed in our country. You think having electricity is the solution to everything? Ask yourself who can live and who cannot live with electricity? The poor have lived most of their lives without it. You act like they will reap the greatest benefit from it. They will only reap true benefits when you make laptops with online distance educational resources and free wifi available to all especially the poor for free or a subsidized rate. Then you will see a stronger India emerge, not just being able to turn on a light bulb so they can take a crap in the toliet. That is the reality.

I don't know which country you are living in, but the India I know doesn't work that way. Most of the civilised, developed democracies in the world don't hire contract killers to kill people you don't agree with. If that was what India was like, we wouldn't have many of the freedoms we take for granted everyday.

Two pieces of news for you, with reference to the bolded parts. One, India does not send out contract killers. I dont understand why you dont understand this. Two, we do care about human rights. You and I are born with the right to express our opinion peacefully, since we were born in India. Whether you like it or not, thats the kind of country you live in. And if you don't like living in a free country, you are free to move elsewhere. But don't move to europe or usa or canada or australia or south korea, because it is the same in these countries. People you do not agree with will not be shot dead in these countries either. I can name a few other countries you might want to check out.

If you really want to know why freedom of speech is so important and benefits everyone, even if stupid opinions are expressed by idiots, then I suggest read up the literature that was written when the world first got accustomed to ideas of free speech. Read up why european countries and USA decided that its a bad idea to let rulers decide who can speak their minds and who cant, and why a society where everyone can speak freely is a society that lasts forever.

Read up the huge volumes of writings (by james madison or the federalists) before they included freedom of speech as a basic right. Or in an Indian context, read the debates and discussions that went on before that provision was included in the constituiton.

Then you will know why freedom of speaking your mind is such a cherished and valuable thing.

If our government had the power to silence dissenting voices from the beginning, we wouldnt be living in the kind of country we are today. We would be living in a country like saudi or iran or kazakistan. You would be scared out of your pants before criticising a minister or party, and your parents or children or siblings wouldn't hear from you again. Do you want to live in such a country?

So no, India is not going to kill people you or somebody else doesn't agree with. If you don't like that, move elsewhwere. Move to a place where the government would kill people who say something you dont agree with. The catch is that you yourself might be killed for saying something someone else doesnt agree with. Do you want to move to such a place, or would you rather live in India, where you and others can freely speak and criticise each other? It is time to make that decision.

Ignoring this attention ****** in the best thing to do, let them bark as long as they want. Doing anything against them will give them more media coverage.

Wo kehte hai na "Pehle bhaukenge, phir thak jayenge and bad me chup ho jayenge."

Look at Gujrat case .. Narendra Modi has forced them to fall in line ... But our Jayalilita ji fueled it for political milage.

Modi did not force anyone by shooting or killing. He just built power plants. He did what is expected of him constitutionally. And that is exactly what is to be done in other places, and is being done. Even as these voices create a lot of noise in TV shows, manmohan singh is busy signing contracts for nuclear reactors and nuclear fuel with france, russia, s korea, australia and a lot of other countries. So get rid of this impression that the success of gujarat is because it is a police state or because dissenters are shot dead. Gujarat is not a police state, and people are free to express their opinion.

dude this movement is built up by 2 scientists and 99% illetrate ppl of villages, who r following them blindly. mark my words this movement will grow bigger and bigger and these scientists will bring in more illitrate ppl to make it a force. they will reach everywhere where govt plans to build nxt nuke plant and start protesting. get ready for long delays coming to future projects.

.
Guys no need for any drastic measures, just find out who is backing him up and i mean financially for making such noises. Did u see that when the Russians announced the projects this guy comes up so who is it??

The famous "Videshi Haath" though cliched could be true, u never know right??

They have every right to PROTEST, but not to DISRUPT. If the actually disrupt construction, we have enough police and CISF to keep them away. For disrupting (if they do), they can be arrested. For protesting, they can't, because it doesn't hurt anyone. Mark MY words, nuclear plants will come up, payments are already being made in this regard, contracts are being finalised.

But the larger point is this - you cannot kill people for protesting, as yoiu suggested earlier. Won't happen, shouldn't happen.

dude i agree with u, all i am saying is that if this movent grows bigger, ppl at other nuclear locations will join. unfortunately in history goi has never been able to win against its ppl. they have given up big projects which they protested against. better to crush it forcefully by throwing them behind bars, although i would prefer what i said in my earlier post.

These people are the ugly puppets to the bloody politics.these people were funded by the dirty culprits of india. these people need electricity with out any source.:hitwall:

lol i like ur optimistic views, lets hope our govt is able to hold up work on nuke plants when they go on hunger strike to death.

You are still mistaken about your understanding about India. You are mistaken if you think that this is an issue on which a large scale movement can be built up across the country. Most of the people in India are desperately asking for more power, not less. Other than 120 fishermen, nobody has actually joined it so far. And nobody will, because it is bread and butter issues that matter to most Indians. These people are sustained by daily wages from NGOs, and such a system of "protest" cannot go beyond that.

Anyway that is for the future to judge. You think that this will mushroom into a large movement, I think it won't. One of us will be proved right in our understanding of the Indian psyche. No point debating that now. But even if it does become a large movement as you say, there will be other sensible people in India who come out and explain why they are wrong. And if the movement actually becomes disruptive, we can use police force to lock them up an carry on with construction. At this stage, there is no reason to even think about such things.

lets hope not. most ppl who r desperate are not going out and protesting for more power are they? anyways check this out. she is a physicist and is supporting these movements. if physicists like her support it, what u expect from illiterates. jaitapur, kundakulam both are sufferring. lets pray india doesnt become another germany and bans nuclear energy.
