Of course, India needs the power generation. If the activists have better ideas on how to power the country with the same amount of resources that is put into nuclear power generation that have the same or more output would love to hear them.

Nuclear energy is the only viable source right now. Coal is hard to get and is way too costly and non-environment friendly. Unless the Green energy thing start producing the same amount of energy and are cost effective Nuclear energy is the way to go.

Read the previous posts on the thread. That was already suggested, and there was a discussion on why we don't do that in India. I can't repeat all that again, but you really should stop going on saying "shoot him", "shoot him" on every thread about anyone you don't agree with.

That's not how things work in the real world, at least not in free countries like India.

your understanding about load cuts is wrong. Gujarat is shining because people(farmers) pay for electricity and that is the reason the Private Power Generation Companies such as Adani Power have set up plants in Gujarat. where as farmers in TN are not ready to pay for the electricity they consume. will they be ready to give the goods they produce for free? if not how can the people who are the defaulters with out paying money for EB expect the EB to be profitable enough to buy power from Generation Units and give it to the people.
2) The people are also defaulters not only for paying the EB but also for stealing power, a farmer who has been provided with a 5 hp service is deploying a 20 hp motor pump, the factories steal direcly from the supply grids in their locality. EB officers are forced to take bribes because they can not act against the mis crients because the councelor in that area warns him for vote bank politis. Some EB officers request being posted in areas where electricity is consumed most by industries so that he can demand heavy bribe.

The System is at default, the people are defaulters and what do you expect.

To the topic, Nuclear Energy is the need of the hour, but what is planned for the Nuclear waste which takes 1 million year to decay, dumping it into the sea will cause increase level of cecium in sea food(which in turn in a pollution). Is Sonia Gandhi ready to dig a trench in front of her house to dump these Nuclear waste.

I am so worried that I am born in a time and socity that is so self centered to enjoy power at the cost of their next generations health. We all forgot the "Health is Wealth" and are embarking on a journey towards our own destruction with the words "Money/Power is every thing".

You have unfortunately fallen victim into an all too common scare mongering tactic - the perils of nuclear waste. The total quantity produced by all of India's reactors in all theses decades would still be small enough to fit into an area the size of a small shed. What's so scary about that? Would you rather kill millions of birds which would happen rather routinely if you put up scores of wind turbines leaving aside the fact that they are a severe visual pollution? Solar power is no better, Would you rather seize hundreds of thousands of acres from farmers to put up an solar equivalent of a a small coal powered plant? At a price no one could afford? One must be practical, electricity is unfortunately not produced with exotic dreams & ideas, some pies in the sky are best left there.

Gujarat is power surplus because govt gives tax rebates to industries who generate their power via captive power plants. Excess power is sold directly to GEB through GETCO.
It this power, gujarat sells to other states.
