What's new

will IN buy AG class frigates from Russia ?

Engines are russian,,so it will not happen.
We are not fools to be buying 272 mki's from them with 60+ mig-29k and pakfa in future.

This the best possibility for Russian to sell jets to Pakistan or else China can sell its J-11Bs or J-1x jets without Russian permission to Pakistan and Russia knows they will not be able to do anything about it.

ok......now come back to topic.......which is AG frigate

. . .
Zhuk ae will be ready next year tailor made for mig-29 and 35.
There is no aesa for su-33 yet.

J-15 is developed from J-11B which already have AESA radar installed.

Should be done,,has better design than our own plus we need to pacify russia.
what we need a long range sam 250+km beside barak 8....that will make our frigate dumdar...

. .
What long range SAM Russia has for its ships when compared to US SM series or EUs Aster series?

.
@ni8mare post specs and pic of the ship and please compare it with its counterparts from US, EU & other countries.

The problem is that our Yards are completely choked with orders spanning a decade.
And our Yards are also slow. These yards take 2-3 times the time for the same ship.

If the IN wants to expand at a faster rate there is no option but to place orders outside the country...

Or...The solution could also be that MoD grows some balls and orders warships from Indian private shipyards(not the coastal, OPV's that it is currently ordering).
You are absolutely right that the one issue the IN is facing right now is that the Indian shipyards are absolutely full with orders for the next decade. Capacity is certainly a very real issue now and this is the only real reason the IN would look abroad for frigates.

As for production delays in India, this is being addressed significantly and won't be present in the future ships the IN receive thanks to upgraded shipyards with far greater capacity and industry best practices such as modular construction.

If IN is not interested in Russian advance ships then in future few may end up in PN as relation between PN and Russian navy are growing fast.
A distant dream to say the least. These ships are very costly and the PN received but a slither of the already modest Pakistani defence budget. Right now you are making do with second hand handouts. Ans talking specifically of Russia, they aren't about to start selling such advanced systems to Pakistan and jeopardise their relationship with India

they are still upgrading to modular........once that happens it will be faster .....already seen the effect in P15B
