Will attack South Korea if drill goes ahead: North Korea

Gents...It is precisely this kind of thinking that get a country conquered. Assume that NKR genuinely do feel that they have nothing to lose, we would have had a second Korean War a long time ago. But this is not true...No country has nothing to lose, even an artificial ones like the two Koreas. But precisely because SKR has so much more to lose, much more should have been done, diplomatically and militarily, to assert itself, to show that it is willing to fight for what is clearly a superior society.

ii think that would only create more chaos in the region as said by chinses dragon. If one nation is behaving like like rogue nation, doesn't mean other should follow same footsteps.

besides, very important reason why SK should not behave as you said, IS because NK is it's neighbor. NK aren't going nowhere. A situation is not that hot which will force SK to attack on NK...not YET.

.
North Korea will need the best air defense it can get. Has China already supplied its HQ-9 to NK? Or is PLA troops already stationed in NK to defend airspace? If they have the drills on Tuesday, I would love to hear about F-22 and B-2 being shot down on Wednesday.

And that's what happens when the number of your brain cells rivals your post count. :tsk::tsk:

Please man! The laughing buddha in my avatar will have a cardiac arrrest.

.
Then why so much of the Chinese boys' attention is on the US and South Korea?

You can keep making assumptions about "Chinese boys" (which turn out to be wrong).

Maybe try ASKING them... instead of assuming that Chinese people adhere to the stereotypes and assumptions that you make on their behalf.

are you gonna be there to defend NK?? um..i doubt so! :D

I consider the lethal shelling of Yeonpyeong island, to be a provocative act by the North.

saved again. nothing unexpected from HK. and Kevin Rudd speaks fluent Mandarin. that never made him Chinese.

no worry. Kremlin is equally concerned.

It is only because of South's inaction that North's been emboldened so much as to behave with so much insolence.

And there's no reason to believe why further inaction on SK's part won't further embolden the North.

It has to stop somewhere!

so u are actually saying war will solve all the problems?? :disagree:

like ii said before if one nation is behaving like rogue, doesn't mean you should start behaving similarly. SK has great economy and people live great life and by starting war with NK will do affect negatively SK status.

This is a major wakeup call. North Korea needs an immediate assurance of our nuclear protection both to secure its future as a nation-state and to rid it of nuclear weapons, we need to give up our no first strike policy, and supply the North with military aid equal to pakistan in exchange for bases on the sea of Japan. The sea of Japan is international waters, our ships have the right to operate there.

.
Point taken. But then, what is the threshold if not this?

What's the red line?

The red line was pretty much any hostility from the north during the exercises. Basically the south called the norths bluff.

The north made all sorts of dire threats the south said stuff you scrambled the airforce for the exercise and said come on try it sweetheart.

The north folded and now have to face facts that the south got pushed once too often. You can only black mail the south for so long with the "do what your told or we will level Seoul" before people get to the stage of fine do it but know 6 hours later Pyongyang will cease to exist as well.

In a civil society, when someone violated the social contract, there is a higher authority to whom the victim can appeal for protection, justice, and perhaps even restitution if applicable. There is no such higher authority for this global society despite what the UN and its believers may say. The only recourse any country has are the consensus of its neighbors and allies to justify its responses. What is happening here with the Chinese members who support NKR is typical of blaming the victim, which is South Korea. If someone assault and rob a homeowner, and if the homeowner decided to seek justice and restitution, would anyone in this civil society criticize and condemn the victim for pushing the issue? So how could anyone legitimately criticize SKR, for lack of a higher authority to act on its behalf, assert its military to prepare for war? Yes...It has to stop somewhere and that stopping point is arms.

And South Korea does not have a right, according to China, to sovereignty protection of its territory? Yes...This is a 'wakeup call' indeed. A wakeup call to China that North Korea is no longer worthwhile keeping. Just as the Soviet Union felled, in this lifetime, you can bet your Mao's little red book that North Korea will fall.

I agree! you have the right to be there just as other countries have the right to cruise the waters of Yellow Sea.

North Korean is NO baby, South Korea still lacks the capability to "survive" if there's a full fledge war.

Your wrong there my friend, having trained with RoK forces I can tell you they are a very well equipped, trained, and motivated force. the North may have numbers but that doesn't mean much when they are so out classed in modern weaponry and training.

.
If the North did cross the 38th parallel I wager they would quickly get bogged down with trying to loot the contents of South Korean refrigerators.
