Why Vietnamese smartphone brands are losing out to Chinese brands in the domestic vn market?

Nonsense. I am patriotic and I have iPhone 6. Anyway nobody in VN can be happy with 11 percent, lesser with 1 percent. Viet companies usually don’t have financial capacity like Chinese Oppo that sponsors TV shows, spends huge sum on ads and everything in Vietnam. That is not a fair game. I sometimes wonder why the Chinese even sponsor very vietnamese music shows, where hardly anybody see chinese in it.

Terrible. If you are patriotic, you should own a Bphone.

For instance, I used to have HTC and now have Xiaomi Note 3. So, I am patriotic to Greater China.

Your patriotism is twisted: iPhone, nail shops, pho restaurants, nurses, massage parlours, and dealers of foreign brands.

Yours is post-patriotism, my friend.

he obviously has his own definition on patriotism: I like vn, but I'm allowed to use Iphone, not the vn-made bphone; but to you guys that working and living in vn, using the vn-made bphone is the ONLY way to prove your patriotism.

relax my iphone is sponsored by my company. have you heard of the news? FTP will open 100 Apple authorized stores in Vietnam in the next 3 years. I bet Apple will think of opening a factory or service center.
One thing in common between vn and SP2012: will... will... will...
Delusional dreamers..

Vietnamese shall be happy if their smartphone brand can capture just 1% of their domestic market.
The 1 percent vietnamese who are so patriotic who will not use an iphone X even given free. :enjoy:
Whatever happened to their Chinese phone killer, the B Phone?

I live in one of the biggest cities in the United States. Vietnamese restaurants are growing very popular here.

Not as popular as Chinese cuisine here yet, but definitely growing for sure.
Is it New York? please share your story. Well, we are late comer, while the city has a big Chinatown. Back in times you needed construction workers for the transcontinental railways, when the Chinese came in mass and settled down since. Man time flies fast.

My friend you can buy bphone2 now. Very reasonable price mit latest technology. And you get many free Viet apps on the phone.

Given that. I don't use Apple's iphones either.
As I found it's quite "anti-human" to use.
My wife has 2 iphones, using one. Another one stays idle, not even work as an alarm clock!

$500 for a VN brand phone, seriously??
Mind you share the specs and prices?
Well, I found it for you:
https://steemit.com/bphone/@namct/super-smartphone-bphone-2-make-in-vietnam-price-450usd
450 USD for such specs are just a big big joke!
And "Chinese phones are not much cheaper"
The specs even can not compare to our $200 Xiaomi 5X:

https://www.mi.com/mi5x/specs/
Its specs are at the same level of the $150 Redmi Note 4:

Now go home, ignorant troll!
ha ha...first VN made cars will become available in 2 years. VinFast will invest $3.5 billion into the domestic car project.

if Pakistan can buy everything from VN, from car to smartphone to computer to TV sets, your living standard will rise by 50%
I am not ignorant. bphone is not for chinese customers. It is for customers that value made in VN products. They will buy a piece of VN, not just a phone.

bphone2 has the same specs as iphone6 plus but 90 dollar cheaper. That is fact. Consumers save money if they choose bphone. Their living standard rises. Pls don’t compare our phones to made in China. I already said bphone is not for chinese customers.

Where is the BPhone manufactured?

Last update: 11:00 | 12/06/2015

VietNamNet Bridge - BKAV, the manufacturer of BPhone, the first Vietnam-made smartphone which made its debut recently, said BPhones were being made at a factory in Cau Giay District in Hanoi. The company said it would invite reporters to visit the factory in the near future.

Vietnamese users now can see an actual BPhone, and only need several days to get the BPhone they ordered. However, they still doubt the high-tech product is made in Vietnam.

At the BPhone launching ceremony on May 26, BKAV showed a video clip about the BPhone production process. However, it did not clarify where the factory was located.

This once again has raised doubts that BKAV does not have a factory in Vietnam and that BPhone, like other phones bearing Vietnamese brands, are made overseas and then imported to Vietnam for domestic sale.

Do Thi Thu Hang, BKAV’s Public Relation Director, has said that BKAV was planning to invite reporters to visit the factory in Cau Giay district in Hanoi.

“We have realized that the mass media and those who are interested in BPhone really want to visit the factory and we will organize an excursion for them,” Hang said.

According to Hang, the factory in Cau Giay can churn out tens of thousands of products a month.

Meanwhile, BKAV is getting ready for the 2.3 hectare production base in the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. If the demand for BPhone is high, BKAV will increase the production capacity to hundreds of thousands of products a month.

When asked how many Vietnamese parts are in a BPhone, Hang said: “BPhone is a smartphone designed by BKAV and made in Vietnam.”

The appearance, mechanical engineering, electronics and software design all were conducted at BKAV’s headquarters.

In general, Hang said, the BPhone production process is just like Apple’s. However, while Apple outsources all phases of the production to its partners, BKAV implements some of the phases.

While reporters are still waiting for BKAV’s promise to organize a tour to BPhone factory, the reporters of An Ninh Tien Te have visited the factory.

“The place which is believed to be the BPhone factory is located on a small alley surrounded by car sale showrooms,” the newspaper reported.

It is a house that looks like a workshop located at No 99 Pham Hung Road, situated between Quoc Binh and Thai Hoc car showrooms. The sign that shows it is BKAV’s factory is a board with the word “SmartHome” erected between the two showrooms.

Bkav said it has received more orders for its Bphone smartphone than expected after it started to sell the first made-in-Vietnam phone online last week.

HCM City has the largest number of Bphone smartphone buyers, followed by Hanoi, Da Nang, Nghe An and Quang Ninh.

The company plans to start delivering Bphone smartphones to the first customers from next week and those who booked it later will have to wait two to three weeks.
