Why should women change their names on getting married?

Do you agree with the custom of woman changing name after marrige

No one has to change the name. My wife hasn't changed her name and surname. No problem either with me or my family.

this is important in the West. The rest of the world (or cultures) are too different to be impacted by this concept.

nopes, Islam says its up to the woman, so shush

Does Islam say to wear a necktie?

Does Islam says to use toothbrush.

you all drag Islam down to the level of Arab cultural practices. Then you all wonder why Pakistan is in deep $hit. Follow soul of Islam and not the cultural ancient habits of sand people.

yes Islam allows neck tie, as it is a modest dress, heck if you look in the light of Islam, women can even wear full length skirts...............................
anything else?

as for tooth brush, it should be used as some time ago, tooth paste was not present so "Miswak" was encouraged now tooth brush and tooth paste are present so use them

Again you my dear dear dear dear are confusing cultural practices of sand people and a religion.
Two things are different.

Now we know who the man of the house is - You ! :undecided:

Its a wonder that Mr.Levina didn't take your surname ! :sarcastic:
Oh baby you dont want me to open my mouth,do you?? :coffee:
maafi... maafi...

and i am sure, some people here will pick that up... not me, of course.

in a non-friends crowd setting, yes... but among friends, not necessary, yes?? in face-to-face gathering, we address the person directly... on internet, like in pdf, we use nick-names or @ sign... or we use direct mail... when a person isn't present, we identify the person by extra information...

actually, my real first name has a nice "intellectual" meaning in arabi... and generally not so common... maybe that makes me partial to that experiment... :-)

very true... especially when common law in many societies allows divorce and re-marriage.
i would say why not...i dont mind calling them by their first name or surname. :)

why are we discussing toothbrushes and skirts??

. .
p.s. Tomorrow you will come and tell us that Islam says to wear a tie or not.

ties are silly strips of cloth of no utility... wear a cravat... elegant, gentlemanly, practical... says this muslim-born socialist... :D

. . . . . .
These are cultural practices and not religious

Just like changing last name is a cultural thingy and thus we should not drag religion in it.
Guess what...I havent changed my name.
And it has no cultural and religion reason behind it.
Hubby said your name would look different from that on your certificates ...and arabs might get confused :D
