Jinnah Sahib did not get Pakistan by speaking Urdu---he got it by speaking english.
Urdu was a slogan to keep the nation united---one language one identity---.
A goal of independence was achieved---. Urdu was not the language of east pakistan---they had no connection to urdu---but for west pakistan---the uniting factor was urdu---.
Once that base was established---then you could divert you focus on other languages to progress---.
Do you have any clue what the secret of our industrial success was in the 60's---it was english---as a main language and german on a lesser scale and french italian on a very small scale---.
Our fighter pilots were the fastest learners of flight in the US because they knew excellent english as good as the american pilots---.

Language is just a tool to communicate---be it speaking sindhi baluchi pushto hindko punjabi---it is also a part of you identity---but then why do immigrants lose their mother tongue after second generation after they move to the USA---?
