Why nations that fail women fail

If only women in Afghanistan had the freedom to become crack addicts or Hollywood whores in a materialistic society, the U.S.A. wouldnt have had to bomb children in Afghanistan.

.
Islam gives all the rights to women. Islam is the true word of God. The Quran is the literal word of Allah.

On Islam both men and women are equal. But not the same. E.g. men do not have wombs and cannot give birth.

What are you saying mate?.... seems short of words on the subject.

Lol..on bold...what your statement has to do with Islam?..it's a natural thing....you mean in other religion men have womb and can give birth??..... smell some coffee.
Who is the custodian of Islam? The only Custodian is the Caliph, we don't have a Caliphate anymore, hence there is no custodian. If you fall for any pretenders, then you need to be made aware that there are no Nigerian Prince's emailing you and that the Indian sounding "Mike" calling you about the virus on your windows device is not sincere.

Tell this to Taliban, and mullahs of your country who radicalise people in name of religion...and to your elites who keep feeding your masses with this weed...in order to control them.

we went in to get rid of international terrorists, we stayed to ensure they didn't regain a foothold AND to support women's rights, and our military industrial complex did make a lot of western taxpayer money to make it all happen.

but measured of 20 years, it was worth it, in my opinion.

Yeah, to get rid of terrorists, stayed to ensure and conclusively after 20 years signed an agreement to let them leave Afghanistan without achieving anything despite of worth of 20 years.

we went in to get rid of international terrorists

And those international terrorists were created by you. In the 1980s Afghanistan had a progressive government who was ensuring women's rights and education. But the Western governments in their infinite wisdom decided that the regressives among Afghans must be armed and they should be further supported by transnational criminals from all over the world who were also trained and supported by the Western governments and China and its lackeys because the evil Socialist government in Afghanistan must be destroyed. Al Qaeda and the Taliban were born this way. Borne by the West.

we stayed to ensure they didn't regain a foothold AND to support women's rights

And Western governments created, funded and armed the tens of thousands of transnational criminals who invaded the progressive system in Libya and overthrew the leaders there, and invaded progressive Syria and are trying to overthrow the government of Assad. And the women's rights you speak of, that is not respected and preached by these transnational criminals that your Western governments train, politically support, fund, arm and let loose.

Nah!

The West is also not good at treating their women too.

In the end, their women become rebellious, sleeping around with hundreds of men, then she married you.

One day before she married you, she is sleeping with other men in the name of a bachelor party.

Oh, the story doesn't end there, after marriage day, she keeps sleeping around as well, having children that are not yours.

Then she said her marriage is not a happy marriage, asking for divorce and divorce money.

It's good that she doesn't make you ended in jail.

In my opinion, Western women are garbages!

Taliban is also not right as well treating their women down to extreme level.

Why can't we have the middle path?

I still prefer traditional culture.

Women can still dress beautifully at the same time guarding their dignity.

And we as men treating them with full respect, love, and guarding their dignity as well.

I feel today's society is so f*cked up.

Why nations that fail women fail
And why foreign policy should pay more heed to half of humanity
20210911_LDD002_0.jpg

Sep 11th 2021
After america and its allies toppled the Taliban in 2001, primary-school enrolment of Afghan girls rose from 0% to above 80%. Infant mortality fell by half. Forced marriage was made illegal. Many of those schools were ropy, and many families ignored the law. But no one seriously doubts that Afghan women and girls have made great gains in the past 20 years, or that those gains are now in jeopardy.

The United States is “committed to advancing gender equality” through its foreign policy, according to the State Department. Bequeathing billions of dollars-worth of arms and a medium-size country to a group of violent misogynists is an odd way to show it. Of course, foreign policy involves difficult trade-offs. But there is growing evidence that Hillary Clinton was on to something when she said, a decade ago, that “The subjugation of women is…a threat to the common security of our world.” Societies that oppress women are far more likely to be violent and unstable.
There are several possible reasons for this. In many places girls are selectively aborted or fatally neglected. This has led to skewed sex ratios, which mean millions of young men are doomed to remain single. Frustrated young men are more likely to commit violent crimes or join rebel groups. Recruiters for Boko Haram and Islamic State know this, and promise them “wives” as the spoils of war. Polygamy also creates a surplus of single young men. Multiple wives for men at the top means brooding bachelorhood for those at the bottom.
All conflicts have complex causes. But it may be no coincidence that Kashmir has one of the most unbalanced sex ratios in India, or that all of the 20 most turbulent countries on the Fragile States index compiled by the Fund for Peace in Washington practise polygamy. In Guinea, where a coup took place on September 5th, 42% of married women aged 15-49 are in polygamous unions. China’s police state keeps a lid on its many surplus men, but its neighbours sometimes wonder whether their aggression may some day seek an outlet.

Outside rich democracies, the male kinship group is still the basic unit of many societies. Such groups emerged largely for self-defence: male cousins would unite to repel outsiders. Today, they mostly cause trouble. Tit-for-tat clan feuds spatter blood across the Middle East and the Sahel. Tribes compete to control the state, often violently, so they can divvy up jobs and loot among their kin. Those states become corrupt and dysfunctional, alienating citizens and boosting support for jihadists who promise to govern more justly.

Societies based on male bonding tend to subjugate women. Fathers choose whom their daughters will marry. Often there is a bride price—the groom’s family pay what are sometimes hefty sums to the bride’s family. This gives fathers an incentive to make their daughters marry early. It is not a small problem. Dowries or bride prices are common in half the world’s countries. A fifth of the world’s young women were married before the age of 18; a twentieth before 15. Child brides are more likely to drop out of school, less able to stand up to abusive husbands and less likely to raise healthy, well-educated children.

Researchers at Texas a&m and Brigham Young universities compiled a global index of pre-modern attitudes to women, including sexist family laws, unequal property rights, early marriage for girls, patrilocal marriage, polygamy, bride prices, son preference, violence against women and legal indulgence of it (for example, can a rapist escape punishment by marrying his victim?). It turned out to be highly correlated with violent instability in a country.

Various lessons can be drawn from this. In addition to their usual analytical tools, policymakers should study geopolitics through the prism of sex. That index of sexist customs, had it existed 20 years ago, would have warned them how hard nation-building would be in Afghanistan and Iraq. Today, it suggests that stability cannot be taken for granted in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan or even India.
Peace talks should include women. Between 1992 and 2019, only 13% of negotiators and 6% of signatories of peace deals were female. Yet peace tends to last longer when women are at the table. This may be because they are more ready to compromise; or perhaps because a room without women implies a stitch-up between the men with guns without input from non-combatants. Liberia got this right and ended a ghastly civil war; Afghanistan’s new rulers have not.

More broadly, governments should mean it when they say they want to liberate half of humanity. Educate girls, many of whom have quit school to work or marry since covid-19 impoverished their families. Enforce bans on child marriage and on female genital mutilation, hard though that is in remote villages. Do not recognise polygamy. Equalise inheritance rights. Teach boys not to hit women. Introduce public pensions, which undermine the tradition whereby couples are expected to live with the man’s parents, because the elderly have no other means of support.
Most of these are tasks for national governments, but outsiders have some influence. Since Western donors started harping on about girls’ education, more girls have gone to school (primary enrolment has risen from 64% in 1970 to nearly 90% today). Campaigners against early marriage have prompted more than 50 countries to raise the minimum age since 2000. Boys need to learn about non-violence from local mentors, but ideas about how to design such programmes are shared through a global network of charities and think-tanks. Donors such as usaid and the World Bank have done a fair job of promoting property rights for women, even if their Afghan efforts are about to go up in smoke.

The radical notion
Foreign policy should not be naive. Countries have vital interests, and need to deter foes. Geopolitics should not be viewed solely through a feminist lens, any more than it should be viewed solely in terms of economics or nuclear non-proliferation. But policymakers who fail to consider the interests of half the population cannot hope to understand the world. ■

Bla bla bla. Honestly, our generation grew up with these voices and so many are sick of it and worse yet is that we can see right through the lies.

Here is western women rights:

1) She can choose to wear whatever she wants to wear - Western concept is that its ok for women to show their skin to the extent of being nude and vulgar. This is fine as per them because it suits them considering how animalistic their inner desires are. This is evident from their womens swimwear over the years and the below link will help show that.

https://www.insider.com/evolution-what-swimsuits-look-like-over-the-years-2019-5

When there is no check and balance either by a state or the people, you will find unique and abnormal cultures that come into existence that are clearly deviant from Islam. Alhamdulillah, our religion gives dignity and teaches that to our women and, to be honest, the bulk of Muslim women understand that and value that.

2) Women should be allowed to work or equal opportunity - Women have always been working in Islam. Take our Nabi's (PBUH) first wife Hadrat Khadija, she was a businesswoman. However, as with men, it comes down to the nature of one's business i.e. is it halal or haram. This rule is applicable to all. In Islam, the income of men is not solely for him but for all his dependants. However, the income of a woman solely belongs to her and no one has a right on it. This is a unique advantage enjoyed by women in a practising Islamic state. Yet, western world does not have these values, they continue to pay less wages to their women for the same level of competency and job roles.

That is not to say Muslims dont commit crimes in this area. Some will take their wife’s money and sit at home. This is wrong and against Islam. So, to judge the religion due to the wrong acts of a few is a folly in its own which the West commits on a routine basis.

3) Violence against women – Ha! Give me a single western country that is pure from this act? These bastards go drunk and beat the living hell our of their women. Next, those women who are passive and submissive, get the worst abuse of all. These Western men will milk their women if given the chance. Then again, to be fair, this happens all over the world for whatever reason. But Islam does not condone bodily harm upon a women.

Now, granted the west has created laws against this and want to help proper women rights. There is now a flip of the problem. The western world creates imbalances when solving a problem and go in heavy handed. The extent of the laws have empowered women to such an extent that it is mostly the western world where you will fine outspoken, wild, and socially incompatible women. They would cheat, stoke social disruption, and have an imbalanced sense of entitlement to everything over men. There is a reason you see shows on TV that have insane women preaching feminism.

To make matter more interesting, men who were non-violent have such social pressures and are at such a disadvantage that rather than talk of their problems, they simply decide to kill themselves at the early ages of thirties. Let that sink in, they are increasingly being marginalised by the society and the horrors they then go through with such vile women gives them zero hope. This then becomes a vicious cycle where each sex inflicts harm on the other and use petty excuses to separate and commit numerous other sins effectively poisoning the very society they live in.

So, Alhamdulillah, Muslim women are much better than this and truly understand the implications of what the west is preaching. With more awareness and a revisit to Islam, many are finding their religion to be much better in teaching compared to what the West has to offer.

All the Muslim world has to do is true follow in letter and spirit and women rights in Islam will trump any other man made women rights. It will give a clear balance to both sexes unlike how the western laws are. But then again, that is the core problem, since when did the Muslim world want to have its own values. We either negate the Islamic values only to adopt the western ones or have a mix of the two. It is no surprise that the end result will be similar and contrary to Islamic teachings.

So it is not about nations failing and so women rights failing, its just anarchy that sets in that violates everyone’s rights. The author is trying to draw an unfair comparison especially in light of the defeat the West has faced at the hands of the Taliban.

The order to read is for whole Human Race, men and women. Dont see Taliban or TTP version of Islam as the best interpretation since they are just Madrasah educated people. Even Islamic study is very old and Al Azhar University is among the oldest university in the human kind

Can you clarify in which way their interpretation of Islam is wrong with evidence ?

In abhrahmic religions when God can't muster enough dust to make eve similarly like he made Adam rather than rib of Adam , half of humanity failed there itself ..
