In these kind of situations they should consider how long is the day period in Makkah and fast by Makkah time.

If the sun doesn't go down then that means the Moon never comes up using your logic one doesn't have to observe Ramadan as no moon sighting also mean no Ramadan in Sweden.

Muslims in those areas could follow the different country in the same time zone to Observe Ramadan.(i am not qualified in any possible way to answer this question so my answer is based on my personal opinion).

One can see the silliness of religious doctrines and rules that were made over 1000 years ago. How could the almighty not think of northern Sweden when he/she made those rules? Didn't someone said that he/she is 100% perfect in all what he/she does?

Allah is friend of Sweden. They don't need to do fast.. They can eat at anytime.:pop:

Actually the rules were made by man. The almighty left it to the intelligence of man to think it up for himself.

Reminds me of the story of the little girl that watched her mother preparing a roast.
The mother cut off both ends of the roast, and put the roast in the casserole.
Mom, why are you cutting of the ends, asked the little girl.
Her mother replied: I don't know, this was how Grandmother did when she prepared roasts.
- Why don't you ask her?
The little girl phoned her Grandmother and asked why she cut off the ends of the roast?
- I don't know dear. This was how Great-Grandmother did it. Why don't you ask her?
Luckily, Great-Grandmother was still alive so the same question was asked.
Why, Great-Grandmother replied, if not, the roast would not have fit inside the casserole...

No Escape, since the moon might still be visible in daylight.

Are those people really that stupid so as not to eat anything if the sun does not set???

It really makes me think of some extreme christian sects that do not allow their sick family members for medical treatments but simply pray for cure.

Man, each religion has its own stupid ones.
