I think it would have been a lot higher than 19% if someone else had been put forth as a candidate. I seriously expected Congress to cross 100 seats and BJP to be saddled with about 210 ish. If Congress had kept its flock together in only two states - Andhra Pradesh and Bengal it would actually have that 100 seat figure. Pilot is not a closet Sanghi. Scindia - sure. Deora will also go at some point. Also till the Kamraj team brought back Indira, the Nehru family wasn't on the anvil to be brought back. It's not like Nehru wanted to create a dynasty.

The Congress wins seats because there is a segment of people that genuinely want an alternative to the BJP. It is not because of anything Congress says or does.

Having said that, I would hope that Siddaramiah or DK Shivakumar get more of the national limelight. I think they have done well. What do you think?

Intersting observations. I am not that knowledgable but they are similar to pharisees, Magi etc. THey came to india and took over the religions there, slandered them and made a cabal of priests.
