Why Indians hate money ?

Tall poppy syndrome. We have that in New Zealand as well.

Somehow Indians attach purity to poverty and a rural lifestyle and corruption to urban lifestyle.

A sort of Filmi Gandhianism i think.
Never knew about this , but its spot on when it comes to describing India.

We also had decades of Films where there was this archetypal Heroine who is westernised and is obviously morally bankrupt, who has a conflict with the protagonist who is a Bharatiya Manyata Purush.

Finally the Heroine sees the 'light' and becomes the perfect submissive domicile.

we worship money yet think those who have money must have done something wrong..
but thats also true here, those who dont have money (working class) think similarly. May be just jealous.

I was watching some show some months back and in that show prasoon joshi said something that made an impact on me to seriously think about,He said Indians hate money psychology although they may not say it in open.

He says look the the songs we love "tu paisa paisa karti he..." etc ,look at the leaders we love .

I went on thinking and realized he was quiet correct ,whenever somebody want to criticize some other famous guy he quickly shout "look how much money he has" in a derogatory manner .

I mean if somebody is rich ,he must be a bad guy, that's our physcology !

I dont know whether these are remnants of socialist era or the philosophies which our ancestors wrote in ancient times .

Please discuss !

Thats called

"SOUR GRAPES"

Though this stand contrary to the commonly held perception of the greedy Hindus does it not?

HOW?

I believe not only hindus but all desis one way or the other still show their inner greed for money with when they say with pinch of jealously "look how much money he or she or they have".

dont blame everything on corruption.while i agree with u that he might be involved in corruption some time or some where...he got rich because he took risk and tried to become a business man rather than becoming an employee and be safe..ur safe but he is not safe even though hes rich.who knows in 3 months he might end up on a road and who knows in 3 months he might buy 3 more houses like that...thats the risk he was willing to take.we indians always try to play safe.most of our parents encourage us to become doctors or lawyers or engineers but rarely do they want us to do business..probably thats one of the reasons why china is surging ahead of us.perhaps they are willing to take more risk!

Those who don't take risk will work for people who take risks.

Greed is good, it will eventually help a lot of people..... zillion times better than this half assed socialist BS which so many politicians are promoting...

So, You are telling me that Indians who have dedicated godes for wealth hates money? Cool story bro
Psychologically we do ,i don't why ,that's why i asked .

We push our eyebrows up in a sarcastic manner to show our disgust that this man owns huge money and that creepy smile

It's not bad if you are very rich/super rich.

It's just HOW you use it.
