I agree with you on training part. I have some friends o mine who are just deploma holders bet they have played a key role in high tech projects such as Nuclear submarine and nuclear reactor. They are master in cutting , welding , Fabrication etc. They are so skillful that they would challenge that if you find any fault in their welding in X ray or other testing, they will resign from job. Many ITI holders have become very good technicians and electricians to take up any challenging Job. In my previous company ITI holders used to the maintenance of High tech GE Gas turbines. Even Abdul Kalam sir has mentioned the low skill worker doing excellent job at HAL plane assembling factory.



I rember a story of Gandhi ji. One lady came to India from UK visited various places and wrote a book how cows and bullocks are wondering every where and how Gutters are overflowing. Whole book was full of these sort of incidences. Than she give her book to gandhi ji and requested to give opinion on book. Gandhi ji read whole book and wrote his comment. A Gutter man's report.

Indian Engineering /Manufacturing sector is quite stable which generally means stable middle class ....

Meaning more students that can afford to go to tuition based private school classes after regular school etc

Sure give more links . It is a news report from 2010 right after faisal shahzad incident..,and if one reads its just two ,three ppl who are making these statements ..there isnt any proof or evidenvce provided in the report to back the claim.

I agree. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I know many friends who were born here or raised here in the states. And this is what they know and can relate to, the love India or Nigeria or Pakistan to visit, enjoy and have fun, but their country and home is really the US. You can't blame someone for belonging to a place. Its natural and perfectly normal to do so.



Indians, Pakistanis and Chinese are similar in education, so are Israeli's and Russians and Koreans in the US too. The difference is because of US's IT sector related investments, Indians enjoy hundreds of thousands of H1B's. But the Koreans, Pakistanis, Chinese don't.

So if you take a sample of the population, say 1000 of each, the education spread won't be too different. In fact, the different would be in advance education, a guy who already has documents to live and work in the US, might not go for the PHD and still earns comparable. But Indian students would go for the PHD as its easier to qualify for the H1B visa. I know this in and out, you can't really counter someone who deals with this a few times a month!!

I believe that you need to listen to that first video. They discuss education of Indians as well. They say that their education is phenominal.

The other point is why indians only get H1 B visa due to IT boom and why not Pakistanis and chinese. Do you want to say that Indians are ahead of Pakistanis and chinese in IT? If that is what you want to say than only your post makes sense.

Well the smartest I saw in my age group was a braniac Hong Kong girl she used to get 95-99% average in highschool and I feared her becasue she looked very lovely and innocent but she was a braniac

Meanwhile I used to see many Indian kids sitting together doing homework together during recess, There was kid i knew indian had no interest in school dropped out in highschool

So there you go ... it proves Hong Kong (Now present day China ) has braniacs

In my university days , when it was illegal for joint homework, I still saw many Indian gentlemen collaborating (they were quite older folks) seemed like they were repeating the Bachelors in western University for what ever reason.

In University I saw braniac Russian migrant kids doing difficult assignments on their own or particiapting in Scientific challenges so there you go

However with that stated ... I admit there are also braniacs that I head about in news

Like I SAID!!!! If you take the SAME size of the Indian population in the US, compare it to the Pakistanis, the Chinese, the Koreans...THEY are ALL very similar. Indians don't go to school on Mars. They go to the SAME schools here. The Chinese and the Pakistanis and the Korean kids get the same scholarships. I know a ton. So quit derailing the thread. If India was the only smart people's country on the planet, the US, the Chinese, the French wouldn't be much advanced than India is!!! Common sense should prevail. What makes Indians so successful is the opportunity in the US. Same students inside India, may be serving tea!!!! Let's stop at this and don't make yourself look like a fool. Reality is reality.

Chart has quoted 1 to 5 number. Pakistanis may not be coming in that rannge. That is why.

What data? The data is generalization. Take a sample population of all immigrant population like China, India, Korea, Pakistan, Israel and give me educational comps. Let's see the DATA!!!

If the Indian kids didn't go to school in the US, or get H1B's,......what jobs did you have for them in India till 2000? Tea boy, waiter, Box office ticket salesman? That is precisely what I am saying. You need to quit being defensive and see the facts. I am saying that only education doesn't help. You can have 10,000 PHD's and if there is no opportunity, they'll be doing odd jobs. Not because they are bad students, because there are no real jobs out there. Similarly, what exploited the Indian educated labor isn't their education, its the opportunity the US presented to them. Let's go go Philippines and start to bring their educated one's here, it'll be the same deal compared to Indians, same with Pakistani, Chinese, Koreans, Japanese. Its the opportunity what matters, not just the education. Also, people coming from India, China and other places, do like the US much better than their home town, they want to settle down here and raise kids and send them to American schools. And to not ever deal with poverty and the toughness you mentioned above, they work extra, extra hard. That's just how it is. Asian's in general have strong work ethic. Indian's aren't just an exception. India, due to H1B has a LOT more people compared to anyone else so people generalize when they say due to the large population.

Not always , it would be more like better off ppl who go to US for education. I know ppl who have barely got through in Engineering in india but sail through in MS.

It is more like education in US is more about all round development and less about getting a degree.
