Human capital? You mean 8000 engineers that Pakistan graduates per year in Pakistan vs almost 1 Million that India graduates.

Pakistan defence exports itself were over India. Pakistan fulfilled $500 million orders in 2006 ago, and took over $2 billion orders, and currently, it has increased many folds. Pakistan now boasts a powerful industrial, technological and research base developing and manufacturing for its armed forces and exporting a wide variety of small and large weapons ranging from modern fighter jets, battle tanks, armored vehicles, frigates and submarines to unmanned aerial vehicles and high tech firearms and personal grenade launchers for urban combat.

Growing Human Capital:

With nearly 16% of its population in 25-34 years age group having college degrees, Pakistan is well ahead of India and Indonesia, according to Global Education Digest 2009 published by UNESCO Institute of Statistics. UNESCO data also shows that Pakistan's lead is growing with younger age groups.

By comparison, a little over 12% of Indians and 9% of Indonesians in 25-34 years age group have completed tertiary education. In 35-44 years age group, 11% of Pakistanis, 9% of Indians and 8% of Indonesians have completed college education. The report shows that 3% of Pakistanis and 1% of Indians have completed tertiary education abroad.

Another important point to note in Barro-Lee dataset is that Pakistan has been increasing enrollment of students in schools at a faster rate since 1990 than India. In 1990, there were 66.2% of Pakistanis vs 51.6% of Indians who had no schooling. In 2000, there were 60.2% Pakistanis vs 43% Indians with no schooling. In 2010, Pakistan reduced it to 38% vs India's 32.7%.

A latest UNESCO report shows that Pakistan had 162 science and tech researchers per million people in 2009, a 2X increase from from 80 in 2005.

Rural population (% of total population) 63%, while India has higher 68%, meaning more poorer in India.

By contrast India had 152 S&T researchers per million inhabitants in 2009, up from 136 in 2005. : Country Profiles

Asian Union

If Pakistan is your idea of a model South Asian Economic Success Story then this BIG SECRET NEEDS TO opened up to the world.

Here in Europe where we live we talk about India only as a rising power of enormous potential

Large GDP FOREX political stability and good technology

Pakistan is deemed a near failed Islamic state not be touched by FDI

Are you mixing up Pakistan with indoneasia maybe they are definitely rising

But Pakistan that's news to us

In 65 years, India excels Pakistan in many fields - thenews.com.pk

A quick look at facts listed below, sourced from Unesco
and World Bank, highlight how Indians have better
educated themselves than Pakistan.
1. India, despite a population 6 times that of Pakistan
had fewer or just 3 million out-of-school children at
Primary level in 2010, compared to some 7.0 million in
Pakistan.
2. Net Primary School Enrollment in India is 92.1 per
cent, whereas it is just about 70 per cent in Pakistan
3. Primary completion rate in India, both for males and
females is 95 per cent, whereas the same for Pakistan is
only 67 per cent for males and under 60 per cent for
females.
4. India spends over 3 per cent of its GDP on education,
while Pakistan barely spends under 2 per cent.
5. Adult literacy rate in India is approx 63 per cent; in
Pakistan it is just about 55 per cent.
6. Youth literacy in India is 81 per cent. Pakistan: just 71
per cent.
7. Female literacy rate in India is 50 per cent; it is less
than 40 per cent in Pakistan.
8. Indian scientists excel in areas of defence technology,
space research, electronics and avionics, genetics,
banking and telecommunications. India produces 10,000
PhDs every year, about 4,000 of these in the faculties of
science and technology alone. Pakistan produces just
about 800 PhDs altogether.
9. India produces more PhDs every year than Pakistan
has produced in the last 20 years.
