This is Russia\Chinese alliance is an attempt to create a new world order to replace the current US lead world order. There would be a struggle between the existing US lead world order and the new up and coming Russia/China alliance, though not appear to be very obvious. This is the defining challenge of the 21 century. Where does India stand in this conflict will decide the fate of India.

Its the weak states that leave their fate to others. India since Independence has always been a strong country. I respect your opinion but in this case you are grossly mistaken.

The new world order will be multipolar. There will be many blocks, not two main blocks like you are imagining. We will find our place, it is too early to put our eggs in US basket without knowing what future holds for us.

Also, in the new world, countries will cooperate as well as compete, surely there will be wars and bloodshed, but breaking up countries or colonizing another country will be things of the past. Bad experiences in Afganistan, vietnam and Iraq will ensure big countries will be less willing to play that game.

Thirdly, we are a big country, we dont face existential issues the way israel, taiwan or to some extent pakistan faces. If things go wrong I am sure we will find some innovative solution.
