Why India chose to disappoint the US

Good to see you back Hon Sir

I echoe with what your saying; the F16's and F18's were overall the most capable jets out of the bunch, and due to economies of scale they were very reasonable priced. PAF during 2005-2006 went all around the world and tested pretty much every available European and American BVRAAM. Conclusion was, AMRAAM's were the best of out of the lot, they had a 100% kill rate in the scenarios PAF tested them. PAF is soon going to order AIM9X :D, cued with the JHMCS, this will give PAF 90 degree High Off Boresight Shoot Capability :D

On the surface, India want TOT that is beyond their capability to absorb. That is why it take so long for India to come up with LCA. But the truth is the amount of kick back from Dassault or Eurofighter is much higher than from Boeing.

.
I highly doubt that. It will happen. It might take some time, may be even a decade but it will happen. It is BOUND TO HAPPEN.

...provided India keeps up the economic growth.

You are talking about way into the future. Also, if India is not willing to be an ally, then India is an enemy of the US. Its up to India to demonstrate to the US that its a truth worthy ally. If not, then you can surrender your territories and join SCO and have them protect you.

Yes kickbacks.. free money is good money .. Is nt it?

Whatever comes back to whoever is good.

But Who Cares!?

As long as the money involved in kickbacks comes from Europeans... Its not out money.

ok...we will think about that....next please

If you expect better, than India should show why it deserve to be treated better. I don't see any reason why US should treat India better than its long time allies like Britain or Australia. Just throwing tantrums by not wanting to sign any end user agreement does not deserve better treatment from the US. Sorry, but your self aggrandizing attitude might work on your smaller neighbors, but not the US.

We dont need to show anyone anything. If the US wants to do business with India then it must align with us, India will prosper with or without the US unlike our western neighbors. India will sign those agreements that benefit us not those that benefit the US, we do not change stances just to benefit financially or diplomatically unlike Pakistan which changes colors more times that one can count.

Spoken like a true servant. Thanks but no thanks. Good luck with your servitude though.

Bold part is just BS. India is too big for to be taken for granted.

dude your really talking out of your nose, its obvious you have no idea what you are saying. India is not pushing the US to make it a "Strategic Ally" like our western neighbors. We do not want to ally with the US or any other country, until and unless the relationship is mutually beneficial to both. Please think before you post.

We were enemy(your word) of US for best part of our history, since independence. We dont mind that if the alternative is being faithful servant.

I believe there is a disconnect here. I think the problem is that India believe that its the superpower. The reality is that India is not strong enough to stand by itself in the long run given the current geo political situation and it will have to take sides sooner or later. I would urge India to side with the US while it still has leverage instead of begging US for protection in the not too distant future. You see how some Pakistanis want China or Russia to setup bases in their country. In 10 years, India would start to debate about which bases to open up to the US military. Which of these two would be a better base for the US fleet in India, Cochin or Bombay? I believe that Indian Ocean should have its own fleet or expand the 5th fleet to cover the whole Indian Ocean while have 7th fleet cover the western pacific, what do you guys think.

India will soon (Within 15 years) request US presence in India, just like how Pakistani's request Russian or Chinese presence it their country.

Oh my. India stood alone in the height of cold war when it was dirt poor. So ya the advise is not well received.
