Why IAF sending pilots to combat zone with expired equipment?

The bigger you are, the greater overheads you have. By the time the IAF budget gets done with maintenance,living expenses and pensions.. there is not that much left for Rafales or Derby’s. So to make sure they can get equipment, they send compromised coffins with expired or ill-maintained systems.
