The age-old principle of supply and demand at work, nothing else.

Strangely enough for the vendors in Pakistan fruits are a glamour item for which they will charge extra.

Does Pakistan allow imports of fruits from India ?
Pakistan exports fruits as production is surplus despite 40% produce going to waste due to lack of storage. Then Pakistani traders sell these fruits to public at higher rayed than Arab countries and Europe.

Apple costs Rs 100 to 250 (imported ones obviously).

Presently due to fasting, shops are full of dates varieties (This is how it is for long). Something, I guess not common in north Indian land.

Why are you so surprised for fruits?
Its cheap mindset of Businessmen community in Pakistan now trending fast accross the country.
Have you compared Prices of Automobiles?
Textile Products?
Cosmetics?
Medicine even?

Every one is charging outlandish profits on Goods and paying peanuts to employees. Food sector is no exception
