Why does Pakistan have zero grandmaster's in chess ?

I think probably because it's a massive waste of time, suitable only for nerds.

Next question - why doesn't Pakistan had an international champion at Roblox? All the kids are playing it....

Or why has Pakistan not dominated the world at PUBG?

.
Is there any credible proof that chess is from india?
Their is a verified video from the great leader xi , on CGTN and global times, confirming the fact.
If thats not enough for Pakistanis, i don't know what is ?

If what you say is true then can you post a link to the evidence that confirms that your claims are not lies?

Some scholars used to regard chess as "unislamic" or "unwanted western influence" - not sure if it's still the case.
The current rising star is Iranian Alireza Ferouza ,giving nightmares to even the current world champion.
He is muslim enough.
And the middle eastern countries regularly hold chess tournaments, including saudi Arabia.

Pakistan has some great players at DOTA 2. one guy from Karachi is on the best team in the past 3 years, they specifically signed him. his brother is also a professional DOTA 2 player and very good.
Dota ? Why do i even try to bring culture to this forum ?

people arent crazy for chess in the Gulf Arab countries. other games take precedence. for outdoor games, its football. for indoor games, its cards mostly, unless you are much older and hang out a lot in small, local coffee/sheesha shops

DOTA is an amazing game. really complex. not that i am any good at it.

Don't think many Pakistanis here consider their ancestors part of Ancient India.. Geography is a different case though

The above link is more of an opinion piece rather than actual evidence. There is no cross referencing and confirmation of sources for ANY of the claims made. It is merely conjectural comments to the start of an interactive game.

The Indian origin claim makes the most sense given the existing evidences and is widely accepted. You are free to disagree.

What "widely accepted facts?" If you are not lying then post a link to the evidence that confirms those "widely accepted facts".

i think most Pakistani's do consider themselves part of ancient India. but ancient India is not modern India. the north is very different from the south, and Pakistan is part of the northern area of the Indian subcontinent, and chess comes somewhere from that northern region.

Will you believe Britannica?
https://www.britannica.com/topic/chess/History
Chaturanga was flourishing in northwestern India by the 7th century and is regarded as the earliest precursor of modern chess because it had two key features found in all later chess variants—different pieces had different powers (unlike checkers and go), and victory was based on one piece, the king of modern chess.
I know the history of chess is still not crystal clear, but the Indian origin claim is widely accepted.
