why do we mix english words in urdu language

Shinwari is actually a new poet in league with modern ones like Ghani Khan and others. Rehman Baba was from the past so he talks about swords and wells and other things. Difference is according to @Monkey D Luffy's words Ghani and Shinwari are burger-khors and Rehman Baba a Pashtun.

Nani was Qizalbash, my mother can speak fluent farsi as can my cousins from my mothers side. Your Grandfather sounds like a very accomplished man, Mashallah. I wish i could pick up farsi, only know a few phrases like hale shoma chetor ast? etc...

My Grandpa was in the British Indian Army & later joined the MES of the Pakistan Army; he had his education from England in Structural & Civil Engineering ! He used to tell us tales about what he saw when he was posted in the Middle East & later Egypt during the Second World War & he used to admire the Germans a lot...a lot ! He used to say that when I went to Germany the first time around, around 6 months after the war, there wasn't a single building standing in Berlin that hadn't been ravaged by the war & when I went to German 5 years later there wasn't a single building in Berlin that betrayed the fact that this was that same city & he used to lament how the Germans, with nothing managed to achieve so much, & how we, even after 65 years, can't even build a few hundred kms of railway lines & are still using what the British left us with.

Khair enough about that; you should learn to speak Farsi ! Its beyond beautiful !

Sir i know what my roots are, i don't need anyone's certificate. I am proud of who my ancestors were and what they accomplished, sure they were tribal Afghans etc etc.. But i was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan and regardless of what my genes are i am a Proud Pakistani..

Mashallah, Pakistan should document the rich history it has in those people who made and built Pakistan, so much is missing. Stories like the ones of your Grandfather, it is such a shame these will not survive beyond oral tradition. This is where India is far superior than Pakistan. It preserves it's heritage.

You are wrong in your thinking. I used to think the same thing.

Even after WWII Germany was a developed nation, they had all the resources they needed, and their blueprint plans for Germany had still survived. Pakistan is a poor nation, doesnt even have technology nor government to utilize its vast resources.

My Bhabi is a Pashtun & she once gave me a book which had selected verses from Pashto translated into English; I can't remember where I put it but I did read it a couple of times & liked what I read !

But then again I've always appreciated Farsi a lot...lot more than I can ever appreciate any other language ! I just love that language so much & I wish to learn it so badly.

But I was never a big fan of Ghani Khan - any issue of Bacha Khan never interested me that much ! Call me bigoted but I didn't like that fellow.

By the way my Grandpa once met Bacha Khan because my Grandpa was a Congress supporter & worker in his youth before the Congress Ministries Era made him a die-hard fan of the Quaid. He (Grandpa) was 33 at the time of the Partition.
