The reason they do that is very simple, Indians take credit for everything good, even when they themselves are vegetarian, but they will take the credit for the meat dish, so it's much easier to just add india to the sign then to teach entire Nations the difference.

You are right vegetarianism has been almost a sub culture in whole India,but the warriors class and other class have been eating meat since forever
North India as well as south India have a very good non vegetarian cuisine

Utter rubbish, although it does happen in North America.

In the UK we have one of the largest Pakistani origin communities outside Pakistan and I have never come across any Pakistani owner calling his/her establishment by an Indian name. This is for several reasons;

1. Out of sheer pride, who wants to call their place after something Indian.
2. You will lose your customers faster than you can drop a hat. The English folks all know that Pakistanis cook meat well, they think the same about the Turks. Indian places are known for veg dishes, which do not appeal to a public which consumes lots of meat, hence why they frequent Pakistani places. The only places that serve meat and are called "Indian" restaurants are Bengali places, they started off this nonsense. You would also lose the Pakistani , Turk, Arabs, Black African and Caribbean customers, who again love meat based dishes.
3. The Indian community is not known for opening up eateries, the Gujaratis and Sikhs make up the bulk of the community here in the UK and neither have gone into the restaurant trade in a big way i.e. there is no name to be made off the Indian community.
