To answer the question why do Pakistani and Bangladeshis use the word 'Indian' because the Indian sub-continent doesnt just belong to the State of 'India' but is a landmass that encompasses various different countries. The culture at one stage was a melting pot and in many ways still is as cultures are on any large landmass. The more obvious reason is that Pakistanis and Bangladeshis know they can sell more curries that way! LOL! Its about money. You Indians should understand that more than anyone as you are all money hungry materialistic baniyas.

And I dont know why Indians are complaining, look at all the free publicity we give you morons.

Incidentally, I have started to see a lot more restaurants calling themselves by the term 'Bangladeshi and Pakistani'. No-one wants to hang the word Indian above their business anymore.

If the clients are satisfied then it mean the Pakistani and Bangladeshi food is the winner not the brand name a client will never come back if food is not good no matter if it mentions Indian name or for that matter alien one

They were called Indian restaurants back in the 1960/70s too when India was a giant slum

It still is a giant slum but the slum dwellers have a higher opinion of themselves

simple answer : profits.
indians churn out expat workers like a chinese factory, so naturally indian diaspora is bound to be bigger than pakistani in any given country (except maybe uk). hence to attract that huge potential customer base they use the term indian for marketing. the trend is changing these days though, here in qatar pakistani restaurants have finally started to open up with the label of 'authentic pakistani cuisine'.
