I agree 100%. Yes, early on this could be justified as a consequence of the widespread meaning of "India" as spread by British influence prior to 1947. However 70 years later this should have been remedied. Sometimes minor or even superficial can point out to fundamental malaise in society. I certainly think this applies to this as it exposes the utter failure of Pakistan state to develop a brand or identity. What has been developed is just the tag "Muslim" which of course is rootless and not a brand but a generic term.

The Banglas actually do use it more than Pakistani's - again showing the Banglas have been more successful in consolidating their identity. Pakistani on the other hand live in a perverted, rootless existance which either is based on ethnic group, clan or then jumps to ummah concept. Pakistan is lost in all this. The result is Pakistan is failed to build up any soft power. Culture, clothing, history all have been handed to India on a platter.

This is not a minor issue and is at heart of the jihadi craze and religious fundamentalism Pakistan suffers from and will continue to suffer.

Its funny but I have seen Pakistani Pushtuns run restaurants and they never calling it Indian, it looks more like a Pubjabi/Mirpirui thing.

many restaurants are now calling themselves bengali instead of indian now! before it was just indian

.
That's not true at all. Most Indians I know will never eat at pakistani or bd restaurant. We usually check on Zomato, the restaurant site, or ask who the chief is before sitting down.
That line made me really laugh hard.... Reality Check needed... Now this Pakistani restaurant labels its self ... Pakistani, Indian, Chinese & Arabic...

It's already part of the acronym Paklstan.
Sindh (real India) is a province of Pakistan.
India is a bastardized term for Sindh.

What a fairy tale is this
What you have written is Total BS

India was the name given by the people of Europe
VOYAGERS from European Countries starting from COLUMBUS onwards
wanted to find a Route to INDIA ; not Sindh
when the Turks had closed their Land Routes to India

Europeans bought Spices from India and therefore Columbus and Vasco Da Gama
wanted to come to India

Then finally when The British ; Portueguese ;Dutch and French came to India
and started fighting with each Other
They were fighting FOR the whole of INDIA ; not just Sindh

why not call them pakistani or bngledeshi restaurants instead of taking our name?

Indian Cuisine and India's BRAND IMAGE :-)

Simply because the food predates the creation of both Pakistan and Bangladesh

The food is basically muslim cuisine of South Asia, alot of meat, beef, lamb, chicken etc dishes

But it was known well before as Indian food, why? Because we were one country.

It now has a label and it becomes difficult to buck that cuisine label

So even if many if those dishes are muslim only, baltis, meat curries etc its still called indian restaurants

many restaurants are now calling themselves bengali instead of indian now! before it was just indian

Its a slow process but its gradually changing

We dont really go to Bengali restaurants

But Pakistani run now have a heavy islamic or Pakistani theme

Indian Restaurants serve Both Veg and Non Veg dishes

Westerners when they visit Indian restaurants mostly try the Veg food
for a change and also because they have Non Veg food at home

They try everything but the ultimate is the meat curries...

Most Indian restaurants are not indian but Pakistani and Bengali thats the point, the make and sell the food muslims eat and most indians don't

There was no concept like whole of India. They called everything India - whatever they found in Asia (outside the known world of Middle East and China).

Even Indonesia became India. It was knows as Hindia Belanda (Dutch India). So fvcking far away from Indus/Sindh!!

That is your personal Opinion

what matters is what the world knows and thinks about Hindu and
Indian Civilisational History which is a 5000 Years old civilisation

why do indian restaurants sell Peshawari nan?

That is the question being asked
Restaurants owned by Pakistanis call themselves INDIAN restaurants
and sell Pakistani food

SO they use the Word " Indian " to attract Customers
