Where is Make in Pakistan?

Poland? Why the heck can't they import from India at one third the cost? :rolleyes1: Ego problems?
Quality issues most probably. it is not that this industry is being run by Gov that will have ego problems, it is in hands of private owners for whom profits are the first priority. So if the Indian compressors would have suited them they would have gone for that for sure.

Make in Pakistan is a success in the Terrorism sector ... they had ToT from Saudia and CIA and have now set up their ingenious assembly and design teams :P
Winston Churchill once said, ''wars are a safety valve to population'' pity he never had any Indian advisers in his cabinet, for credit goes to Indians that in chasing their dream of making and producing something indigenously , they have actually managed to achieve that goal without even going to war . Wonder if India has yet patented copy rights on female foeticide. A proud achievement indeed.

So Pakistan is going to grow into a developed civilized country by being a mango economy? I don't think so. Agriculture, textiles and donkey harvesting can only get you so far.

Even China is investing in plants in India to locally manufacture products, creating jobs and increasing knowledge.

What is Pakistan doing? Where are initiatives to increase manufacturing? I don't see anything happening apart from roads being built.

It would have, if you guys wouldn't have let china bring their workers too for their factories in pak.

I think make in pakistan or made in pakistan culture will soon come to pakistan too, once the infrastructure is developed along proper education system. The educated mass will diversify and will take risk to innovate, be it start from making replicas but its going to happen sooner or later. Unless the fundamentalists take a very strong hand and divert the energy and focus of youth in wrong direction.

There is no 'make in pakistan'.....
Lolz, reminds me of joke, Everything in world is Made in China and Destroyed in Pakistan :P

Make in Pakistan is a success in the Terrorism sector ... they had ToT from Saudia and CIA and have now set up their ingenious assembly and design teams :P

Well if they can succeed in terrorism that means they have capabilities of being the best, its just that the youth need proper direction, once this youth energy is diverted to creative and innovative world with proper education, they will be next to none.

Honestly, for all of India's push - the "make in India" thing is a great slogan but there has not been anything tangible achieved so far. And the biggest problem of course remains corruption at every level - from municipal corporation employees to corporate slaves - everyone wants a kickback. Unless this goes and 24x7 electric supply is there all over the country - mere sloganeering is not going to achieve much.

This.... Only realistic post till now on this thread.

Make in India: Foxconn starts shipping Xiaomi, InFocus phones built in its AP plant

By Gulveen Aulakh, ET Bureau | 15 Jul, 2015, 02.58AM IST

NEW DELHI: Foxconn Technology Group has started making and shipping smartphones for China's Xiaomi and US phone brand InFocus at its new plant in Andhra Pradesh, taking a step forward towards making India its next manufacturing hub.

The world's largest contract manufacturer will ramp up the production capacity of the plant, located in the state's 7,000-acre Sri City special economic zone, and will bring it at par with its manufacturing units in other countries, Vincent WH Tong, chairman of FIH Mobile, Foxconn's phone manufacturing unit, told ET.

"It (manufacturing) has just started and is moving as we speak. Actually, compared to our capacities elsewhere, it is not that big a scale. In the long run, we intend to grow the facility further," he said, declining to comment on the quantity of phones being made from the factory for Xiaomi and InFocus.

ET had reported in its June 24 edition that the Sri City unit - called Rising Star - will make about 10,000 phones a day, which is small compared with Foxconn's much larger units in China. The plant has been set up at an investment of Rs 77 crore.

Tong said the company is talking to multiple customers to make phones from the same facility, without sharing names of possible clients.

Chinese smartphone leader Xiaomi has publicly shared its plans to make phones from India but India head Manu Jain said the company is still finalising its manufacturing plans, when asked whether it was getting smartphones made from Foxconn's new unit.

US-based InFocus started selling its M330 model priced at Rs 9,999 in India in March through an exclusive partnership with Snapdeal. The company spokesperson wasn't immediately available for comment.

Foxconn, the maker of iPhones and iPads for Apple and Kindles for Amazon, plans to create at least a million jobs by setting up 10-12 manufacturing facilities in India by 2020, chairman Terry Gou said during a recent visit.

Just imagine ..Pakistan does not manufacture AC compressors and imports from Poland & others.

Before sprouting such nonsense at least understand why Pakistan imports AC and Fridge Compressors. First the fan industry imports this material because it uses components within the product to refurbish second-hand fans. In addition, companies extract copper which commands a high price. If you are going to criticize something at least know the relevant information first.

this sounds like that strategic location thing  ... So what if the youth is capable..
The Youth is not interested in Make in Pakistan ...it's just a few net savvy Pakistanis .... they are more concerned about how pak they are and how many infidels remain in their country.
Their Actions align with their intent perfectly.

Jf-17 thunder is there no? You will earn lot of dollar from the export.

(03) As far as corruption is concerned - The consensus among Indian Industrialists and Investors - or India Inc. is that regardless of whether things have changed or not 'on the ground', things appear to have changed at the top - with the top-level corruption's going down in Modi govt.

I am not doubting or contesting that this has given a push. It is a push in the right direction. I merely stated that nothing tangible has been achieved. See, every guy is not a Prem Watsa - if I want to set up a small unit and employ about 200 people - I am not exaggerating - everyone will take their cut - The Municipal Corp, the Fire Brigade for an NOC, the local MLA and his opponent who lost will send a goon for some party fund. I am talking about SMEs - these will generate employment. Of course if Tata or Ambani or Watsa want to set up a plant and employ 10,000 people - the sailing will be pretty smooth. After you set up your company - your clients are probably either MNCs or big Indian companies - whether you provide a service or are a supplier - the person tasked with giving you the work will take a cut from the top-line - between 5-10 percent. This is the reality.

Unless this entire system someone becomes less tedious - "Make in India" will not succeed.

Yes - I don't doubt this. The bigger the investment, the faster the execution. States compete with each other for such projects.

I will prefer MADE IN PAKISTAN instead of Make in Pakistan....... By using "make in" approach you can be a copy machine but it will lack creativity.........

Sometime the need of the hour is jobs and these cannot be created overnight with your approach. It should be both " made in" and "make in" approach. You need to update the skill level of your youth in order to attract foreign investment in your country. Having right political climate, infrastructure, connectivity is also important to attract the funds. So,it is an ecosystem that needs to be nurtured.
