This cultural hijacking is a recent phenomenon to lure people.
if it was part of respecting local culture, the last they would have done is to anglicise their names after conversion.

in my region ordinary christians always wore local dress.... (not talking about nuns).. and jewelry and what not.. only exception being sindur/bindi ... but now a days young girls might wear stylish bindi it because of fashion.
i did not study in christian school but if you are talking about the school staff or nun or father, thats a different thing.. its like expecting every hindu to wear orange dress...

Poor people won't care , Africa is now a Christian continent.bribing people to convert religion is a crime , these missionaries use loop holes like politicians during elections.

I didn't say it's absurd. I just wrote down my personal opinion...which is I would rather be polite than up in arms simply bcuz someone preached me something they believe to be right. If it's the law then so be it...I'm not interfering with the law of ur country.

What r u talking about? This is completely unrelated. First of all Weinstein is Jewish...and I'm not aware if he was ever up in arms about Hindus doing conversions. So how is Weinstein related to this?

Yes he did criminal things but should we drag down Judaism bcuz of his actions? A man's actions are his own...his religion, ethnicity, gender, political views and other such things shouldn't be dragged along in the mud.

anyway i have seen christians following local customs in many places, its normal when people change religion they still keep their custom... there is no conspiracy in an indian christian using photo of jesus like some hindu god...

Look up Mariolatry, look up the cult of the Sacred Heart...it is perfectly accepted practice among Catholics (and in the Orthodox Church), and hateful to Protestants, especially to the US Southern Baptist types.

That's just more of a bribe...not exactly forced conversion. It says more about the character/morals/devotion to beliefs of that individual willing to switch religion for money than it does about the person offering such things.

There is a sub-text. That phrase 'forced conversion' gives the local fundoos an excuse to intervene, saying that the money offered, or employment, or food, or whatever amounts to a use of force, against the natural inclinations of the converted. That's why that came in, to give the Sanghis a handle to harrass both Christians and Muslims.
