There's been a huge expansion of technical training and engineering courses over the twenty to twenty five years. These guys are not educated on anything but technical subjects. On history, politics and sociology, they get their inputs from the net, and the RSS is very well organised on the net. So they get this crap and start thinking that is true, and go on from there. There is actually a fully paid BJP cell 'managing' the net.

Have you seen this new movie trailer on Allaudin Khilji? The film trailer seems to distort history to such an extent that it seems like the guy who is making it must be on bjp payroll. I've seen the saffroni comments on YouTube of this trailer and they are pretty much frothing at the mouth. Anyone that challenges them whether Muslim or a history major of any religion is being labeled a Pakistani.

I foresee communal tensions in India after this film is released, just by looking at the hateful comments of Indians against Muslims. If you haven't seen it I can post a link, so that you can read the comments. They are ridiculous and I've never seen this level of hate before.

There is a sub-text. That phrase 'forced conversion' gives the local fundoos an excuse to intervene, saying that the money offered, or employment, or food, or whatever amounts to a use of force, against the natural inclinations of the converted. That's why that came in, to give the Sanghis a handle to harrass both Christians and Muslims.

So just straight up misuse of the law basically. It doesn't surprise me...the ppl of this subcontinent seem to excel at such things.

I did some reading on this last night. It's not just about this legend; there are several others as well. Would you hold still for my running some of my posts past you for readability before publishing it? I wrote a lot last night, and it was so turgid and indigestible, so devoid of grace and style that I dumped it with a shudder.

After seeing this video; I remembered my college days incident. My converted Christian friend (Sridhar) has come to our house with literature to invite our family for Suvaratha Sabha (Christian congregation). He gave a small book to my father. My father read first page and he calmly said "Hey Sridhar, if you want to come here as friend of my son come and go, but don't try to preach your religion by insulting our religion and one more thing, your stupid people don't even know how to speak proper telugu and you try to interpret Sanskrit text this should be last time you are coming here to preach Christianity", he tore the book and put that in dustbin.

I think you are rapidly running out of credibility. As if others haven't been to convent schools without either losing their religious roots or becoming fundamentalists.

My convent reference was in context of the ambience of how the 'then' Christians preached to how the 'now' are preaching.
In my childhood, they were forthright, you could see and identify them as Christians.
Now, they mix and mash Hindu culture with western and do it. My convent reference was just to that.
Btw, I hold great reverence to my then convent teachers. What ever I am today is only possible because of their hard work.

They do things; 7th Day Adventists, Jehovah's Witnesses, both have a reputation for it. Anybody asked the people at the temple not to politely ask these preachers to move on? Someone had time to take a video, but no time to ask them to get lost? Why is our intelligence being insulted like this ?

Preaching is an important part of Christian faith. By inviting people from other faiths to convert to Christianity they are merely carrying out a religious duty. If Hinduism does not encourage active preaching that does not mean other faiths don't. Missionary activity is also not a cheap endeavor. By donating money to this cause many practicing Christians believe they are committing a noble deed

Very well said. The Christian, AND the Muslim, have a duty to preach the faith and to seek to save the souls of those not converted from hellfire. Ask them to get lost?! That's secondary sir. Primary question is Why are they in first place? I am kind of disappointed that your sensibilities are not hurt by what you are seeing. Hindus in that video were being polite. That's how Hindus are brought up in India, to be polite.
