I would like to address a few issues.
The response on this forum
Frankly it's been embarrassing. Some people act like jilted lovers...lol It's shameful. You are surrounded by your enemies, conduct yourself with grace and dignity, not like buffoons. The only type of respect that matters is self respect. The rest can be achieved through economic or military might, but self respect cannot be attained through anything worldly or spiritual, it is from within one self.
The response of our government
Pathetic as expected. This is what the foreign office said -
http://www.mofa.gov.pk/pr-details.php?mm=NTc2NQ,,
What we should have done is recalled our ambassador in protest, rejected anyone else they sent and demanded an apology. This is the PLO and organisation who's very roots are in terrorism, who's currently in a unity government with another UN designated terrorist organisation, who have fought a civil war for power in the occupied lands - they have zero credibility to represent the Palestinian people - they're just thugs playing at victim and should be called out for who they are.
Ummah
The concept of Ummah is enshrined in the holy Quran, in the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh and is documented in hadith. There are millions of documents written about it's virtues, it's structures etc. It's foundation is in following the deen and love; love for Allah, his messenger, the family of his messenger and just as importantly love for each other. People belittle it as a political construct but it is not - it is a part of your faith. Rejection of such a concept is a rejection of Quran and hadith.
Pakistan and Palestine
Pakistan should support the Palestinian nation and it's people on the below grounds;
1. It is our Islamic duty to support Muslims under oppression.
2. It is only humane to support other humans under oppression.
3. Al Aqsa. This is the first Qibla of the Muslims, it is promised to us by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), we can never give it up.
The political entity of Palestine is irrelevant. If you really think about it, these guys bought it upon themselves. Arabs sold land to Jews happily taking their money. It's only when they decided to make a nation that they had a problem. Our support is based on humanity and Islamic values.
The steps forwards
I have read much negativity and reactionary remarks, that must stop now. We are not a weak nation, or a cowardly people, our ideology and our history (from the ancient period onwards) is one of greatness. All greatness starts as a dream, kept deep within hearts and minds, sometimes not even uttered until it is achieved.
I suggest everyone read about 3 things;
1. Islam - it's ideology, history and importantly it's most significant personality; the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
2. Pakistan - the ancient history of our nation, the Islamic period, the Pakistan movement and our modern history. Most important is reading and understanding the works of Alama Iqbal.
3. Read about success and successful people and nations. Read about empires and personalities, Muslim AND non Muslim, read the works of Macheaveli, Sun Tzu, Karl Marx, understand how others work and spot the patterns to their success.
I have a personal anecdote. I know dozens of Pakistani people in the UK within the city in live in who are today millionaires. They grew up in poverty and threw hardwork, ambition and grasping opportunity have become millionaires. One of these people is a very close friend. He has achieved this status in less than a decade after graduating university. He grew up with us, he is not extra intelligent or extra hardworking, he does not come from wealth, he did not sell drugs or win the lottery. The difference between him and the rest of us - he is ambitious and he dreams big. He has the courage to take risks and he has earned the reward from that. It is the same for all these examples of success. Everyone works hard, not everyone has big ambition. I bet you guys reading this might well be in this position yourself or know of others who are.
Our nation was born from nothing and is destined for greatness. Destiny needs to be grasped, that required the development of identity, society, economy and military. Our destiny is such that none of this will ever be blessed unless it is enshrined in the practices of Islam and through halal means.
As a nation we need to be ambitious. We need to think big. The ideology of Pakistan is not that of a sliver of land wedged into Asia - it is bigger than that. Imagine if all of us woke up every morning with the ambition to be millionaires. Maybe less than 1% would achieve that ambition, but imagine the wealth and productivity that would be generated through everyone else trying?
People internally and externally mock us for having ideals and having ambition. All greatness came from ideals, ambitions and hard work. We do not lack for hard work, we need to stay true to ideals, we need to be brave enough to have ambition and we need to coordinate these things. Take this approach and the same people who look down at us today, will sit at the feet of your grand children and great grand children.
Politically we should not reject our ideals because of betrayal by the PLO. We should however put them in their place, because being a doormat never helped anyone. Turning the other cheek means you get smacked twice. Iran turned on Hamas when they didn't support Assad, today the same Hamas is sitting at the feet of Iran. Learn a lesson from that. We should build our own economy, our own military and project influence wherever we can. Erdogan has a decent model for this. We need to make like minded allies and eventually we will lead, not be led.
People talk of black flags of Khosran - idk about that - but the world will see the Green and white inshaAllah.
