What's new

Whatever

No Urdu is number #1 language of Pak as a lingua Franca and it's far from dying , everyone loves it

Most of modern Urdu poets were Pakistani for a reason

But everyday people anywhere in the country do not have that accent, every few hours of drive accents will change completely
Yeah, the sher o shayiri is mostly Urdu, very poignant, some of them, also make for good comedy sometimes.

Same in India, things change, sometimes quite drastically every couple hundred miles.. voh hi to maza hai road ka.

I'm not going to say that, many practicing people will always go for Friday

Showed Karachi too

Do they wear shalwaar kameez? If no than ,that probably deffrentiates more than the cringe skull cap
cause that's centeries old cultural thing probably dating back to Greeks
Poor or Rich, Muslim, non Muslim, practicing non practicing
Shalwaar kameez is Love and that's everywhere in Pak

Beautiful Andalus-style music. Though it's not nice to see an abundance of males on the roads but almost no females. India and Pakistan are common in this regard to a great extent.

What else is a "priest" supposed to do but read and preach their religion, Hindu, Muslim or otherwise ?

but ok, I'm cool with live and let live, and not forcing anything down anyone's throat forcibly.

Islam in its true state doesn't have a priest system at all. :) No agent between human and God. No class called the clergy who can form a political class claiming sole authority of the religion, a class which in other religions have turned their societies oppressed. Every Muslim is encouraged to have a Quran so that he or she can understand the progressive, rational religion for themselves without an opportunist priest class to corrupt the teachings. Unfortunately the mullah, a priest really with no basis in Islam, arose time to time but he has risen especially in the last 20 years and corrupted lot of Muslim society.

I don't go even Fridays but I am more a practicing Muslim than most because I have understood the philosophy and some of the rights and laws given which the "pious" ritualists have not. :)

Radhe ratri to everybody

:hitwall:

je baat ! 🍻

Ok, I admit to having only cursory knowledge of Islam, certainly not super well read but I have a fair idea. Aaj kal logon ke paas time hi kahan hai to read old scriptures etc, go to any trendy new place and ask randoms of any denomination if they've read and abide by some old holy book(s) lol

In Hinduism/Dharma, I can tell you, there are waay waaay too many scriptures/books/tomes to even complete reading in a lifetime, let alone having an understanding of all that ancient and many times esoteric stuff. The priest class, some Brahmans, dedicate their life, no different from muslim Imams? and so on to understand and dispense that knowledge to the common folk and are also the ones who solemnize weddings, bless a new dwelling, or a new born... or perform last rites and so on.

I'm super irreligious myself but don't look down on religious folk, it is a spiritual anchor for many.. merai saath badsulooki mat kro, mujh se chori chakari, makkari mat karo.. and we're all good.. live and let live, ek hi mantra hai bhai.. very simple.

You should visit the golden temple for langar, and nizamuddin for jumma raat sufi singing and festivities/kebabs later, durga pooja carnivals for their pandals and food (get a lot of kebabs from joints called kabir and ali's etc there, btw lol)

most of all, stay chill.. let people do as they please, if they're actually wrong, they'll fall over themselves and hurt themselves.. the Hindus call it karma.

Must say you didn't understand my previous post. :) Will write about it tomorrow perhaps but will say for now that waiting for some bad person's karma to catch up with him or her is as senseless as the Anglo-style so-called democratic system where someone who has not voted for the winning party in the four-yearly election has to wait for four years to try to vote out the party he or she doesn't favor. Islam is much more simple and straightforward for it was a political, social and socio-economic revolution that erased previous laws and brought laws and conduct that were natural, things that you and I feel as humans, things that must be said and prevail without unnatural, illogical and irrational restraints. Simple examples :

1. Why can't a female have right to ancestral property that a male does and to husband's money and property and to the right to have self-acquired money ?

2. Why can't a female choose her own husband ? Or consent or reject a groom proposed by her family ? And once married why can't she have the right to divorce ? And once divorced or widowed why can't she have the right to remarry ? And why does she need to wear silly and irrational signs of marriage like the mangalsutra and the sindoor because not only her husband doesn't wear those ( though by fairness he should ) but also because she can divorce or be widowed and then remarry ( from her choice ) and the society should have no facility to needlessly gossip about this female as to whether she is currently married or not willing to marry or desiring to marry someone because such her married or unmarried state is her personal state with the society having no business to make gossip.

So true Islam is made up of such simple, logical, rational and deeply human questions, issues and rights.

Signing out for the night.

This so called "Karma", in its simplest derivation/understanding, is nothing but cause and effect... strike a match, you get fire.. there's no rocket science to it.. steal from others and sometime down the proverbial road you'll be a victim of the same crime you inflicted upon some other.

One doesn't, or shouldn't wish or wait for bad fortune or dark times to befall another.. the universe (Dare I say Allah?) to take care of it.

The system you talk about, "early original" may have worked a thousand years ago but society, civilization has evolved since then (some might say devolved, which would also be true)

1. Why can't a female have right to ancestral property that a male does and to husband's money and property and to the right to have self-acquired money ?
Again, I can only answer in anecdotes. From what I've personally seen and known, this is not true.. I know a lot of wealthy people who inherited a lot, daughters/women too, from among all the groups.. Hindus/Muslims/Parsis etc..

my granpa (4 kids) passed away some years ago and there was a bit of conflict around property and so on, females included.. dad (completely self made man) wanted nothing to do with it.. never even mentioned it, and neither am I bitter about it.. in fact there was a mad scramble to gobble it all up.. didn't take one bloody paisa from it, and its a good thing.. I'm proud AF for it.

You're so out of touch it almost breaks both the heart and the brain..

suffice it to say.. "bro, you have no idea" LOL

I want to go to kashmir and get killed in the name of ALLAH. I don't want to live in this world. How do I get past all the checkpoints and reach Indian occupied kashmir?

I've been searching on YouTube but it seems like it's really hard to get to iok. Any suggestions are welcomed.
