Once upon a time close to a town there was a Markhor living on a mountain. Markhor chose that mountain because many small poisonous snake lived on the mountain for their evil deeds and disturb others wild animals and humans of town. As you know that the Markhor is a snake eating animal and he hunt snakes. Gradually, Markhor become populer among all the living creatures and human population. People began to think him as the Saviour and started loving him as their own. On the other hand there was severe unrest among snakes living there. They were always thinking how to bite him day and night. But as soon as someone comes near him he got killed.
Whenever snakes are killed by the eater, it was considered a great honor for snakes and their families. When they hear news of the death of a snake, they cry with tears, and friends and relatives of the dead snake get good publicity because they think that they were poor people struggling against oppression. When snakes saw that it is impossible to compete directly with Markhor, they made a risky plan.
Since Markhor cannot go after each and every snake at once, so they planned to sacrifice one snake and it will drive him away from local population and then others will enter population and damage them in groups. And that plan succeeded. So now despite of presence of Markhor, innocent people again started dying of snake bites everyday. People were outraged by killing and started cursing inability of Markhor to protect them. Some says kill Markhor because he is of no use now. What is his reason to live? Some says sell his horns for money. All animals and humans were very worried that what happened to the Markhor, why he cannot see those snakes? Meanwhile there were some ice foxes who always dreamed of killing and eating flesh of Markhor but always failed now entered fray. They started whole campaign against Markhor.
Everyone started shouting what is the use of this Markhor?

Poor Markhor kept working diligently day and night. He did not perceive that once loving people are now becoming his enemy. Enemies are conspiring against him and listens and believes every word being used against him.
After some time Markhor get to know that everyone hates him and it appears that it was no use to live there.
One day, he was sitting on the way depressed by heart he saw some snakes. His hunger was already erased with grief. He did not pursue them. Snakes were surprised that he was not coming for them. They get worried too that if he do not get up and was diverted, their plan will be foiled. So they started shouting around him and teasing him of his inability. Snakes were so happy and thought that most of the people are not supporting Markhor and many went near him and started dancing aroung him. Markhor was surprised to see this. Some snakes slipped and went towards village for killing people but this time they could not hide from Markhor eyes who now understood whole plan. He get up swiftly and killed all snakes near him and went towards those who were going for village and caught them too. That night hundreds of snakes lost their lives and those cunning fox failed once again to finish Markhor.
People says that still today, snakes of that area lit candles in the memory of those who were killed by Markhor. They call that killing a terrific cruelty and barbarism against snakes. Some believe them but most kick them out whereever they see them.
Still today, whenever snakes leave their home, they bequeath that "If something happens to them, Markhor should be held responsible."

good story.

They were always thinking how to bite him day and night.

that made me laugh.

this is sad... hunting is barbaric activity and must be abolished.

i don't understand the point of killing a animal for "fun".

That's a shame. You missed out on a lot Islamic literature. You read the works of Allama Iqbal.

If you ever learn Urdu, then follow this guys videos on Farsi:

It's very easy to follow his guide.
