Socialism does not work because it is not consistent with fundamental principles of human behavior.
socialism works because it is the automatic ideology of every sensible person... how can any sane person have objections to the ideal of liberty, equality, fraternity...
Muslim socialists believe in democracy and the derivation of legitimacy from the public,
not "from" but "for".
it is in the british parliamentary system where "professional politicians" go around begging for votes from the public... the public may not be enlightened... may not be aware of their true rights... the politician is not promoting the rights of the masses but his own agenda... the majority vote he seeks is really his wish for public approval ( legitimacy ) to cover his agenda.
but the muslims socialist, or any other true socialist, will volunteer to bring rights and freedoms to the masses... most times, the masses are not aware of their rights and thus they do not fight... the socialist is an aware person and will fight, through revolution by any means... and ultimately bring legitimacy for the rights of the public.
the core of islam is not about prayers and rituals... i never prayed, i never will... the core of islam is about rights, justice, freedoms, practical advises... for example, the islami way of wedding... or the call to remove idolatry.
or claims to be Muhammad's successors which is contradictory to Islam itslelf.
well, muammar gaddafi is indeed the present imaam of all muslims... and he shall be that until the next imaam is identified... and this is in-keeping with the spirit of islam.
