A gregarious nature is always useful.. .. end up meeting some nice folks while doing business... such as people who took part in the Mehran fiasco.. always fun to have myths you knew were fake busted again.

Lowdown is that despite what my fantasizing countrymen want to believe.. the culpirts were all local and not uzbeks/tatars/maritans.. trained by ex-servicemen who went to other side( yeah.. that is a very large and real threat)... and they planned it and executed it all on their own. The only thing was that the aircraft were targeted specifically.... not for the ASW capability.. but because of the EO surveillance systems which "someone" told them was being used to coordinate drone strikes.

They were quite clever in their methods. For e.g. they wore grey denims that almost perfectly matched the color of the tarmac and runway.. and black on top. So if these guys stood up.. legs down they blended into the ground.. legs up into the night.

Never inquired.. but its three from most sources. Another was slightly damaged.. the flight-lines were interspersed.
