What would you like to have in the JF-17

An overwhelming majority of this forum members is non-professionals, who are here to learn from each other and from those who have better technical knowhow. We should perhaps restrict it to learning rather than coming up with wish lists of what we want or how we wish certain system to look like or equipped with. Those who are involved in JF-17 (or other programs for that matter) are professionals who know what they should look for, how much they should look for, and how far should they go in available resources. Maybe we leave these matters to the professional and avoid starting up threads such as these. My two cents.
Actually it is a query thread for professionals or knowledgeable people to answer the rookies. And this is also how Think tanks work. Not much is really known about the components of the JF-17 apart from some official specs and full of speculations on the net and in other threads. So, knowledge about what most people think of the bird and how they envision it is somehow important and has its own place on this forum.

What about a electro-optical Distributed Aperture System (DAS) like The AN/AAQ-37. Would it be possible on JF-17?

DAS consists of six high resolution Infrared sensors mounted around the F-35 airframe in such a way as to provide unobstructed spherical (4π steradian) coverage and functions around the aircraft without any pilot input or aiming required.

The DAS provides three basic categories of functions in every direction simultaneously:

  • Missile detection and tracking (including launch point detection and countermeasure cueing)
  • Aircraft detection and tracking (Situational awareness IRST & air-to-air weapons cueing)
  • Imagery for cockpit displays and pilot night vision (imagery displayed onto the helmet mounted display)
The F-35's DAS was flown in military operational exercises in 2011 and has also demonstrated the ability to detect and track ballistic missiles to ranges exceeding 800 miles (1300 kilometers) and has also demonstrated the ability to detect and track multiple small suborbital rockets simultaneously in flight The AN/AAQ-37 DAS is designed and produced by Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems. The current sensors used in the system may have insufficient night acuity for pilots used to flying with night vision goggles (NVG), and are therefore augmented by an embedded NVG camera in the helmet.A DAS test system has also been used to track tank gun firing,

This sounds like a spherical AESA radar!? I Know it is not but it functions like many (6) AESA radars around the Airplane.

Well, the plane will "NEVER EVER BE " stealth no wonder how much lubricant (or composite) dream boys would put on the plane

A cow will be a cow

However what the JF17 Thunder could do is following

a) Get a better engine , the engine will naturally enhance performance and payload , more weapons could be carried
b) Alternatively if we can may be make our bombs and missiles which are lighter in weight that works as well
c) The Radar integration with SAAB or Chinese awacs could be enhanced
d) AESA integration would allow it to engage more "ENEMIES" as same time great feature achievable
e) Targeting POD could be enhanced with new POD for ground recon in future

But we can show make the cow , 200% even more lethal

JF17 should be kept in the modern era of fighter jet in every possible way.

Pakistan should built 300 thunders at the very least and keep them cheaper. Block-II will feature quite well developed features which will give it a good net centric capability. If you have 300 netcentric fighters in a battle, the information advantage will greatly help reduce any performance deficiencies.
Yes we should have at least 270 JF 17 BLOCK 2 and 3 and should try to increase number off F-16 to at least 108 and if economy improves we should go for J 10 C at least 72 because we need 3 4.5 Generation platform than focus on 5th Generation

.
Personally, i would want it to have stealthy features and more up to date radar.

.
Can't have everything on it, but I'm sure it will be a good fighter. Just like the old F18 and how much it has improved.

NeeD LCD TV for watching Katreena kaif............ufff sorry just joking...;)

Well there are too many things to improve i would suggest start desiging new Aircarft wth better features.... still its gud but after 10 years; it will like Mig 21...... go for 5 gen or atleast 4.5+++ fighters........

Those are not "cows" :.

F-35 also uses c++ ... Not prefered by butt.

There is nothing wrong in C or C++,or say ADA is more useful in military aircraft, most of the core program are always use C, most of the OS, even Windows and UNIX is based on C.

Even TOR is written in C.
