I am not talking about societies. I am talking about reasons why EU does not deserve the peace prize. Some of those reasons are racism, anti-semitism, anti-muslim hatred amongst other things.



I think you misunderstood ?. Race is a purely western concept. That is why the western world is plagued with racism. In India for example, we dont recognize race. You wont even find race and ethnicity questions anywhere even for job applications. Am sure same is the case with Pakistan. And the conflicts in South Asia dont have anything to do with race. It doesnt even figure in the argument, nor is it important. Its border disputes, regional politics etc., But this is not in discussion here. Lets not digress.

My whole point is that Europe categorically does not deserve a peace prize. Its not very peaceful. And when those countries indulge in actual human rights abuses in the middle east, they shouldnt be given that prize. Anyway, it just leads the world to think less and less of the nobel peace prize. Its ridiculous.

Really? You constantly see threads here about skin color and chaste sytem, race and IQ. I guess that must be a different South Asia. India is rather racially homogenious, its ethnic groups that are discriminated against. We hear so often of the dreaded Dalits.

And race is not a Westen concept any more than biological classification is a western concept.

The point once again: Europe has managed to unite into a peaceful economic unit, putting aside their differences. Something India has failed to do with its neighbors.

Your whole argument is based off an unachieveble utopia. Racism/ethnocentrism always exits, and certainly does so in India.
I still believe compared to North America, Asia, Latin America; Europe has the highest living standards, and tries the best to give its immigrants/minorities rights.

Something the Arabs, Chinese, Japanese, Iranians lag behind in.

Anyway, If Europe had less muslims, Jews, like they do in East Asia, it would have been more peaceful.

But again we digress. We are talking about whether Europe deserves the peace prize or not. If EU countries bomb middle eastern countries, torture civilians, destroy homes and make people destitute etc etc, then they do not deserve the peace prize JUST BECAUSE their home countries are peaceful. In a developed society like Europe peace is not difficult to achieve. This is not even an achievement. With wealth, social stability and less social inequality comes a much more peaceful society. This isnt rocket science. A Nobel Prize for this? Pffft.

Do you know how many wars Spain, France, Germany, etc fought with one another? Their conflicts had dominated the globe in earlier times. The fact that they put aside their differences and decided to cooperate is why the prize is being given.

If India, Pakistan did the same, it too would be worthy of a prize, regardless of social ills in the respective nations.
We are talkin governmental level here. Not from a minority POV.
