What is your opinion regarding a Petrol/Diesel Car of the same category?

the only disadvantage diesel cars have over petrol is the noise which is reduced to almost to unnoticable in the luxury brands. the advantage of diesel is much higher torque than Petrol cars so you can have a fully loaded diesel car not going phusss like a petrol car. I dont know the quality of Dzire cars but if you buy a diesel Mercedes, VW you will nver drive a petrol car again.

Try starting a diesel car or an SUV for that matter on a steep slope! It'll start alright but stall even with full accelerator!

Like I said it depends on the car, I had a leased Jeep diesel SUV for 5 years with Mercedes engine in it and for 5 years that too in Canada with -40C and it started on half ignition, even the SUVs with 4.0 petrol engine couldnt catch her in pickup with a 2.8 Diesel. My kids use to request me Dad show us the plane taking off and it literally felt like a plane taking off when i push the accelerator

take a test drive of xuv 500 you would not be disappointed, and cabin is insulated aswell so much less noise.

Maruti celerio diesel is coming with amt and claimed average of 30 kmpl...

As diesel is deregulated govt should take off the excess duty charged on diesel cars, that would take down the cost of diesel cars.

I have a V6 skoda superb , its great for long drives (as long as they are express ways)

I have driven my 1981 diesel car on used vegetable oil as an experiment and it worked fine for six months and the engine seized. Can Petrol engines beat that???

Hmmm....I must try it.

If you want a silent drive try the SKODA , though its expensive to maintain.

On an average i spend about one and a half lac to maintain my skoda superb ever year, my other three cars put together do not cost that much in maintenance.

VW came in later , it was skoda first , i bought my first skoda in 2005 , since then this is my second car from them .

I got it from a cousin of mine. I had the diesel car which was about to be given away and I thought why not try it. Used oil is very viscous when cold and I got it free from local restaurants. Now a days you get filters and kits for people who want to go green and ecologically conscious.
