Na na, there were enough(even among non Muslims) who did well under the Mughals and had plenty to lose from a regime change. That was just one example - a very prominent and outspoken one though

I also used the term - by and large...meaning I don't wish to generalize. Ibrahim Khan Gardi was one such general who served under Shivaji.

I hope this clears misconceptions. For example, though the Mughal Empire was an Islamic Riyasat(at least officially), the Maratha Empire was a Confederacy and never became a Hindu state.

according to their view, Aurangazeb is a great scholar, leader and beacon of justice. his rule showed the victory of good over evil. the innocent evil(Hindu subjects) suffered under his desert laws and rule. had Aurangazeb not studied Islamic laws instead concentrated on Arthasasthra and other Indian knowledge he may not have became a tyrrant.
