What If Attlee Hadn’t Partitioned India?

Well a united India on the terms of Congressi party would not have survived long either.

That was the basis for Partition, wasn't it? Best for most involved. Some did get the rough end of the stick but history is not an equal opportunity creature. Some 66 years later, cannot imagine any other way.

Yes India is good pakistan is Bad so please Quit your ranting. I guess it is a measure of their incompetence that they ripped a country out of india. I have seen how muslims are treated in India and i am glad that my ancestors gave us this land to live free of Hindu oppression.

And yet you decided to move from your Islamic country to be oppressed by another Islampophobic non Muslim country?

I am so glad for partition looking at Hindostans current state and Hindotani Muslims.

I praise Iqbal & Jinnah for getting us seperate from Hindus.

Hindu population decreased as mamy fled to India.
Although Muslim population has barely grown in Hindo land.

Memory is not serving you right.

You Arbis ran from persecution by your fellow Islamists and were saved and given refuge by Hindus.

Of course, you have shown your real color.

Now what is left is for the Arabs to be sent back to the desert. They blew the chance to be Hindustanis forever.

It may take time, took 800 years in Spain. But make no mistake about the inevitability of it...

Only Sri Lankans and Mahmud of Ghaznvi taught you Tamils correctly...

You idiots will never stop your war mongering..

Muslim League was creating every hurdle to make constituent assembly failed, Constituent Assembly of India made progress only after Muslim league left for their own constituent Assembly for Pakistan. But Liaquat Ali Khan himself dissolved Pakistan's constituent assembly after the death of Jinnah, they themselves could not agree on anything.

pakistan was also incompetent annexing Junagadh, Hyderabad, Jammu & Kashmir and Siachen which they ultimately ended up losing East pakistan for their greed

If I was alive back then, I would've abhorred the idea of partition. Seeing the two (or three) countries now, I can't thank jinnah enough ;)

Their original Pakistan plan included a huge non-Muslims majority areas of East Punjab, West Bengal and Assam. But Congress was the most popular political party of India, not the Muslim League. Further, leaders like Sardar Patel foiled their every evil plans to grab more land.:lol:

Beyond a point, it ceases to matter. I happen to agree completely with the stand that Nehru & Patel took. Maulana Azad was India's greatest sons but his perspective on this was skewed by his emotional attachment both to his country & religion & wanting to keep both of them together. It simply wouldn't have worked. The divide was too deep & any such unitary idea would have most likely failed. I won't speak for the Pakistanis & the Bangladeshis but as one who has never hesitated to oppose the idea of the two nation theory in principle, partition was still the best thing to happen to (present day)India in those circumstances.

I don't know - It sure as hell wasn't 15% because most of the Hindus were in East Pakistan !

It was close to 15%-20%.

Think about how all Muslim majority countries gradually become devoid of any minorities. Almost all of them when they started off with 0% Muslims. Almost all of them.

Think about what is going on there.

Can you spot a pattern?

OH Dear!!!!!!!!!

What the hellish situation are we being asked to imagine.

Partition was greatest good riddance moment for India.

That is the key.

We both got rid of each other.

Islam got it's reward in India (in the form of Pakistan) and now we should concentrate on making our Dharmic country great again while they are doing wonders with their fort of Islam.

On what basis do you conclude that West Pakistan had between 15-20% of Non-Muslim Population ?

And those areas have been a part of the Muslim Civilization for thousands upon thousands of years naturally the countries carved out of them would be Muslim Majority Countries !

Why would people open such threads? Nothing but a troll fest. Nothing useful will come out of it.

Again, facts speak louder.:yahoo:

Your first point is baseless.

What's the birth rate in Muslim countries like theTurkey countries and Arab countries, in Iran and in Iraq. :azn:

Well in that case whatever makes you happy. If you want to find something then google it.

On what basis do you conclude that West Pakistan had between 15-20% of Non-Muslim Population ?

Based on facts. This is only for West Pakistan.

Some patterns are clear from this analysis. West Pakistan shows prima facie evidence for ethnic cleansing. The proportions of minorities reduced from over 1/5th of the population in 1941 to a negligible level in 1951.

The Hindu population in West Pakistan, that is today Pakistan, was 20% in 1941. That came down to 1.5% in 1951.

Percentage Composition of selected Punjab District Populations of Hindus and Sikhs : 1941 that became part of Pakistan.

Attock 6.4 3.0
Dera Ghazi Khan 10.9 0.2
Gujranwala 11.8 10.9
Gujrat 7.7 5.4
Jhang 15.9 5.5

Sialkot 19.4 11.7

And those areas have been a part of the Muslim Civilization for thousands upon thousands of years naturally the countries carved out of them would be Muslim Majority Countries !

How many "thousands upon thousands of years"?

How old is Islam itself?

How old were their pre Islamic civilizations? What happened to them? Everyone just willingly converted to Islam?

Why did Parsis have to run from Iran? Jews from Saudi and almost all the Arab world? What happened to Christians in Egypt? Hindus and Sikhs in Pakistan, Afghanistan?

How did so many countries become almost all Muslim in a matter of a few decades? And that just happened to coincide with the Islamic invasions?

So many became Arabized as well? Losing their thousands of year old civilization and identity?

What "Muslim civilization" are you talking of?
