While I appreciate where you are coming from, the name Hindustan is also a derivative from recent times, which incidentally is way better than what we are called now.

Yes - but Hindustan seems to suggest a nation of Hindus and since the Hindutva brigade would like nothing more, I don't buy it. Bharat is better. It is more inclusive and more ancient anyways.
