As for this topic, it's normal though, you don't expect them to say otherwise. It's nothing new or unexpected. Whatever they say(funny enough some of them who claim western system is in decay and immoral still immigrate and live in the evil West and many more are moving in with each passing year. Lol). When we stop seeing people all over the world wishing to come and live/study/immigrate here then we know our system is in decay. Until then astala vista.

Well, surprisingly Italy has a quite productive economy for a country their size. The country is well known for its creative and innovative business, a large and competitive agricultural sector (Italy is the world's largest wine producer for example. Yummy.
), and for its influential and high-quality automobile(world's largest luxury automobile maker), machinery, food, design, defence industry, tourism(world's 5th largest tourist destination) and obviously fashion industry. Don't also forget that despite its small size and population Italy is still manages to be the world's sixth largest manufacturing country, which by all means is commendable.
Moreover, it's one of the most industrialised countries on earth today, they also have the third largest economy in the eurozone and the 8th largest in the world,a very very high level of human development index and is ranked sixth in the world for life expectancy (I don't believe any Asia country is in top 8 apart from maybe Japan ? ). Etc etc. So I don't believe this is a "lazy country", they are quite productive. I believe if they had even half of China's and India's population they would probably have a larger nominal GDP than the U.S today ?
Granted they need o reform their economic system and policies while curbing corruption and other flaws the country currently faces which has been affecting and limiting it's growth.So it's always good for us to put things into perspective, not good for us to exaggerate thing just because we want our own country to look better.
A for your last point, I do believe from what I have seen abroad that Italian men are quite popular with girls to some extent, probably due to the language (which me myself I find very appealing together with Spanish) accent and charm?
I don't understand your point. Are you asking me a question or you are merely telling me/forcing me to agree?
. If it makes you feel better, then yes our political system is in total decay and we collapsing, give us maximum 2 years and we would have collapse completely into oblivion and adopt the thriving political authoritarian system of the developing world.

Time is changing with all the political uncertainty in the western democracy. Especially for all the immigrants as of political instability and hate filled political rhetoric to immigrants are very worrisome for any immigrants reside in the western world, the west no longer the sole economic powerhouse without sinking in the national debt. Intolerant that give rise to altar right moment swept across the US and Europe all because of the homegrown population unsatisfy with their economic condition.

Time has been tough, but times have always been tough before, I myself know quite a lot of Immigrant in US, Australia and the UK, the problem is, you are not talking about democracy value vs Economic value here, you are simply talking about people goes where the money goes. Is this the case tho?
The answer is, depending on who you are and how you raise. Take my friend Karen as an example. She is a Chinese living In Sydney, she came to Australia in 2000, she was an engineer (I don't remember which discipline), in China, now she have a Photographic Studio in sydney with her husband, a photographer. I know her husband because we gone to the same TAFE Course.
When I ask her, why she move to Sydney and work a hard job taking photo in weddings instead of working as an Engineer at home, to which she replies, she was told to do a lot of things, and she cannot move around a lot and being told what to do when her daugher was born, and yet the Chinese government do not care about this. At one occasion, she was asked to travel to South Korea for a trip, and she come back working to move her whole family somewhere, just not China.
When you move from China to Overseas destination, you don't expect to live in a better place, if you think so before you move, then well, all i can say is you are too naive to believe everything other people said, so why do people do it? And continue doing this? One word, Freedom.
Freedom (not democracy or anything, just basic right of freedom) is ususally overlooked and taken for granted when you are born with it, but when you are not, it seems like a golden ox when you see it. And while not everyone sees freedom for what they are, and some people, just don't care, that did not change the atmosphere in China, yes, today China is blooming, but the question is, how long can it bloom? Economically, it cannot bloom forever, and when that time come, the people staying for money is going to be gone, moving on for some other country. But in the west, there will always have freedom, and there are always someone who look for it.
Who verify the story you told me? I just took your statement on it face value with me stay out of your discussion about a acquaint of your tragic life back in suppressive communist China.

Democracies in a free market economy, especially one as hyper capitalist as the USA, is easily highjacked by finance capital. Politicians do not serve the interest of the people that elects them, but they serve the interests of their wealthy donors. Even with that, it's still much better to live under a very flawed Democractic system than a one party dictatorship. Western democracies have not yet rolled out the tanks against protestors, although the police are being equipped with military grade weaponry.
