Who benefits from the UN, let me think, maybe that country that was openly threatening the rest of the world (including their own allies) a few days ago at the UN?

Pulling out of UNESCO, doing everything they can to cut down the UN budget, etc.?

Trump should just live up to his promise and pull the USA out of the UN, you won't see many tears being shed over that, except maybe Micronesia and Palau (and that too only as long as the money keeps flowing).

When these people have absolutely no power to represent and speak for what these countries will or will not do. Basically.. It's what they hope they will do. But that's a far cry from what they might actually do.

In the end, it's all just speculation one way or the other. Time will tell...

You can put the UN on the planet Mars and it won't make a bit of difference. Its physical location has no bearing on its operations. The issues are structural, an organization that was created after World War II and changed very little since then. It doesn't reflect the geopolitical reality of the 21st-century.

I know people like to blame the US for hijacking the UN, but this is a laughable charge, at best. US is only one of five members with a permanent veto. What about the other four, including China and Russia? They will use their veto power to serve their interests, but somehow it's wrong for US to do the same.

Whether US leaves the UN, or gets kicked (both unlikely), a UN without US is a useless organization. Nothing will really change except the players.

So the hypocrisy here is that the US wants everyone else to pay more but still have the UN headquarters in NY. How about China becomes the biggest contributor of the UN in exchange for the UN headquarters and other vital offices moved to China?

Those countries and all others will do whatever is best for their National Interests. No one is in hurry to answer you or USA, They will make the decision what serves best their National Interest. American made choice well and good, others will make as well.

National Interest is top most priority of all countries, not only USA and you.

UN is used and misused multiple times due to the influence of US...So US should thankful to UN that it provided a platform to meddle in affairs of many countries in the name of UN resolution...Rather than UN thankful to US, it should be other way around..So it is really time for US to stay low in UN and behave like a regular other country who does not influence the policy of UN to its own advantage...

Latest decison of US for Israel is another bad foreign policy rather than blaming whole world...Rather than blaming whole world, US should step back and think, what went wrong for which whole world is sitting one side where as Israel and US on other side...
