Why don't you simply say higher altitude advantage, the same reason why Pakistan army is not able to evict a hand full of Indian soldiers from Siachin even though it is easy provide reinforcements and supports from your side than ours.

In mountain warfare the one sitting on higher altitude that too well entrenched always have greater advantage, one who is attacking from lower altitude is always expected to have large casualties. But still our men were brave enough to mount waves of attack one after another, we never stopped with the occupation of some lower ridges and became happy with that as you are doing in Siachin. LOL
